    Re: 2024-25 College Hoops Discussion

Great game, nice comeback by Florida and Clayton finally started getting aggressive and it changed the game. Those shots that Houston was hitting Saturday weren't dropping today shooting 24% from three compared to 45.5% Saturday.

Houston offense was falling apart in the second half. Felt like the Duke game all over again.

It was like a role reversal. Sharp is gonna have nightmares about that play for a while. To not even get a shot up is absolutely brutal.

Jesus, Sharp had back-to-back-to-back terrible plays. To be fair, those last couple of offensive possessions were terribly drawn up. 4-person weave high-post screen, wtf is that offense on that last play? I literally said aloud "what in the actual F is this offense??" And funny enough, a reddit thread would later pop up w/ the same title lol.

But Sharp missed the steal on that full court press, also, where Uzan got the foul. Camera barely shows it, but if Sharp made the proper read, he coulda got that steal on the errant throw.

I really wanted Houston to win. I've been rooting for them the past half decade. Oh well. At least it was Florida out of the SEC to win it all and not Auburn or Alabama. Florida actually has some basketball tradition, even outside of just Billy Donovan. So I don't root against them as much as other SEC schools just using football money to buy their way into being basketball powerhouses.

Not sure how I feel about Todd Golden. After seeing so many interviews with him this tournament, he seems like a tool and very cliche, rarely does he seem authentic. But he's cool. I was really rooting for Sampson and for him to ride off in the sunset and retire after getting his ring. But, again, oh well.

That's College Basketball. The difference between the best teams in the NBA and the NCAA is that you are dealing with 18-22 year olds. They are more susceptible to these type of choke jobs. It's not always about the most talented or hitting enough shots. Sometimes, it's all about executing at the critical moments, especially in single elimination games

But, credit to Florida for going from losing Round 1 last year to winning the Natty

I wouldn't mind seeing Men's CBB adopt the Four 10 minute Quarters like the Women's CBB. It's always a sore sight to see players get in early foul trouble and have to sit a hour in real-time. That and shrink the play clock from 35 seconds to 24 seconds. They could keep everything else the same. But, pace would be quicker and likely more scoring

That last play is going to haunt Sharp forever. The ball is just bouncing next to you as the seconds wind down, and you can't do anything because it's a turnover if you touch it. Has to be a terrible feeling.
