It's hard to know whether to cut to the rim, stay at the 3-pt line, touch pass to a teammate, etc because you can't see the defender(s) in front of you and the camera pans too slowly when you receive the ball to be able to make a quick decision. I've actually gotten a charge before because I didn't realize there was a defender back, my teammate passed me the ball, and I crashed into the defender just as the camera had panned to where I could actually see him. I don't really know that there's an answer to this either.

But other than that situation, it's a fun way to switch things up a bit.
ya the very slow turning of the camera just drove me nuts.

that is indeed the one drawback.

over time i became better at anticipating whats behind on the break.

      thats mainly with teamup though.

play now online is a breeze.

Revisiting the player lock camera in 2K20 for my MyCareer (player lock) MyLeague and it’s as good as I remember.

I’ve always played exclusively on Player Lock (zoomed in close with the height as low as possible). Im so used to that level of immersion that all other views seem dull. In Player Lock you don’t have a god-like birds-eye view of the court, but it’s more realistic that way. Like, when driving and kicking, you don’t necessarily have eyes on the guy youre passing to, so you rely more on inference and memory.

I’ve been Player Lock only since 2K19. Its the only way for me to make reads on both ends without cheating the game.

I just used this camera angle to make it to the GOAT league in PNO. I play on-ball defense better using this angle.

What settings do you use for Player Lock camera?

Zoom 1, Height 1, Key Zoom Off

I used to use Zoom 10, Height 1 but it kills too much of your peripheral vision if playing with perimeter players. The game looks & feels more like basketball the more you zoom in though.
