Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
You can have a perfect game and if you play on a big screen tv and are not putting the tv in game mode you are asking for input lag. You will notice it more in twitch based games.
If you buy a gaming monitor then there is zero game that you will have issues with because guess what. Games do not cause input lag...The response time of your display does.
Some games like guitar hero compensate by offering a settings to make the user fine tune the lag but not many offer that because most hdtv today have game mode and many game on monitors that do not have input lag
If you are buying a tv. do some research on input lag.
If you are referring to display lag that is not the game. That is the refresh rate of the display.
I assume you are talking about input lag meaning when you press a button it takes longer for the action to display on the screen then you would like.
That is input lag and is caused by fancy high end tv's processing the image to make it look that nice which causes delays on the action button press.
That is why many gamers buy ben q monitors. They dont have the sharpest picture quality or colors but your press of a button is instant on screen.Comment

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
I never play online, but I've never experienced lag offline ever.
If you're experiencing "unplayable" input lag offline, then it probably has to do with your setup and not the game or PS4."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Appreciate the response, but honestly 2k is the only thing that causes these problems. And yes, definitely input lag/response to controls. You can have a perfect game and if you play on a big screen tv and are not putting the tv in game mode you are asking for input lag. I have done research on it in the past but just gave up because no settings could accommodate it. Not even dropping it down to a lesser HD does anything
The Ben q monitors sound nice, but it's a tough one to swallow when you don't have great picture quality on a big screen for a real life game or movie. And who doesn't want that.

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
BenQ monitors produce a great picture with the right settings imo. But, they won't do anything to alleviate the lag online which results in input delay. I also don't think wireless controllers help any when it comes to input response time, but I could be wrong on that. Wired should be faster.Comment

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
Benq monitors don't get very big either. At least none that I've seen.
Input lag has to do with the source too, not just the TV

Again there is no issue with 2K game. Just because you notice it on that game does not mean the issue is there,Appreciate the response, but honestly 2k is the only thing that causes these problems. And yes, definitely input lag/response to controls.

Blame the tv you have and not the game. If you want instant input register then get a gaming monitor. Why do you think hard core gamers play on monitors.Comment

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
And by thew changing the resolution on ps4 to lower on a 1080p tv is acutally causing more input lag because you are now asking the tv to upscale the image to 1080pAppreciate the response, but honestly 2k is the only thing that causes these problems. Ben Q monitors can have nice pq but is not anywhere in the same universe as higher end monitors or high end hdtvBenQ monitors produce a great picture with the right settings imo. And online lag has ZERO to do with the game and more to do with connection and server latency.Comment

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
Look I'm listening to everything you are throwing out there (although having to adjust to buy a gaming monitor is pretty ridiculous considering majority will have HDTVs and they know that and only for one game that causes input delay?)
The issue I have that you keep pushing aside like it's nothing is
Not a single game in my library, or show, or movie, or application has ANY delay/input lag Online or Offline.
NBA 2K offline has no input lag/delay OFFLINE. But as soon as I play any online mode, where the more players in that server, the laggier, more noticeable delay. I'm not drunk every time I play online, it is as clear as day that there is a delay to response of controls. It's pretty easy to tell when you have offline to compare it to.
So out of all the applications, games, you name it in my library causing NO issue for the entire life of my system, but 2k does online EACH YEAR....idk something points to that game's servers. Not my TV.
And if it just so happens to be my TV, then I applaud ALL the other games that don't cause ANY input lag Online for me and have instant responses and I think it shouldn't be too hard for 2k to mimic that level of response if a Battlefield, COD, every other sports game including another basketball game can.

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
First of all let me say I hate this, this is by far my biggest pet peeve about 2k...but you should also know it is by design. In order for the Pro Stick to allow dribble moves and shooting moves simultaneously they put in this lag. Otherwise you'll end up shooting when you meant to do a crossover, or vice versa. If you hold the button it means you're trying to shoot. If you do something quickly it usually means isomotion. Which is why it requires impeccable timing to pump fake using the Pro-Stick.
It's highly annoying and nothing else in the game (passing, left stick) has this problem.
This has nothing to do with online, but playing online can compound the lag with its own lag and make it a lot worse.
I hated the pro stick from day1, there was NOTHING wrong with 2k13 controls.
Some people seem misunderstood, input lag is different from general connection LAG, input lag is the delay from pressing a button to the action happening. or a movement on screen.
I started this thread, i forgot the mention I play on xbox one and my prefered game mode is RANKED online, and it has nothing to do with my TV or TV settings, I have a Sony set on game mode which is rated one of the best for gaming over on displaylag.com
I Haven't tried 2k16, but id still be playing 2k13 old gen ranked online if the servers were still up and aslong as one other guy in the world wanted game.
Thanks for the responses, keep em comming.
You wanna know what input lag is? run around with Chris Paul in 2k13 on xbox360 doing iso moves, shoot etc etc, then try in 2k15 on xbox one for example..... STRAIGHT UP BUSTED.Last edited by herbals; 09-27-2015, 07:46 PM.Comment

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
Yeah the rest of the controls are fine as far as input lag is concerned. I always use the shot button that has no lag...as that is my one salvation from the pro stick (I can usually manage with isomotions lag). If they got rid of the shot button though, Id be playing a competitors bball game or no game at all.

Re: Is the INPUT LAG fixed?
If it's more the control setup than the servers, I totally like the idea of left trigger activating shoot and keeping the stick for dribbles. It makes most sense, and it'd enhance dribbling as well...being able to hold a dribble one way longer a la Iverson..
That is only a pipe dream at this point though.
