I think there are broadly two reasons you get more hate around here Sam. The first is that you have changed your delivery to appeal to a different, younger crowd. I find it kind of annoying that you rename every play and talk in superlatives a lot (you have like 5 videos each on the best freelance and the best defense, etc). But I get that that's what a lot of the newer viewers want, so be it. The second is that you're doing some things that are less sim than what you used to do, e.g. use a lot of Y-cuts and even advocate to use them in situations where the opponent cant see it coming because the cutting player is off-screen. I personally find these cuts quitecheesy, they often don't work because it's great offense but because the AI is incapable of dealing with them correctly. The resulting animations look really stupdid. I refuse to use them except in situations where I find them to be a 'normal' basketball play, e.g. cutting when a guy has my shooter(s) on deny.

That being said, I've seen every video you've released this year and will continue to do so since you're easily the best tutorial maker in all of 2k, and the guy I've learned the most from. I'm even hoping that what you do helps grow the sim community, as your new delivery style draws in some of the younger crowd that doesn't tend to be very sim at all. Thanks for everything.

Maybe I should tone down the superlatives lol I get too excited sometimes also superlatives are easier to search for. Maybe I will keep it in the titles but not say it as much, sometimes I do honestly feel is best because is new to me lol I always update my tactics and I turn them into tutorials ASAP. I think this makes me feel new is best haha But I trust you Qno, I will tone down superlatives from now on. Thanks for your support as always man.

Yeah I totally see that, it's not disingenuous but the way of playing you currently deem best. I'm the same way and have often been told to cut down the superlatives, so maybe I'm extra sensitive to it haha. I've also noticed that you get a bunch of comments asking whether the Hawks Freelance is better than the Warriors, etc. Maybe a summary video that outlines the strengths and weaknesses of each freelance and ideal lineups would be great, I've noticed that you've done a few comparisons between the freelance offenses now anyway. Would also serve as introductions to new players who will be overwhelmed by the number of tutorials you've already done. I'd be happy to help you create lineups for different price ranges if you wanted to get specific... See, I'm the same, I'm excited about something and go off

          2) Explain the pick-n-roll defensive settings...Ex. hedge(center) as opposed to regular hedge, whats the difference between the 2? I know Sam said as far as hedge goes its better to use soft instead of hard. Is this actually the case?

          3) How do you implore the Bad Boys defense?
The difference is that the "center" settings only apply to screens involving the center.

The moral of his every story is he's great and all his stuff is perfect.

I guess this is what makes for high youtube viewership and revenue so more power to him. But he's not about the community anymore, he's about "Sam Pham," talking about himself in the third person constantly.
Working with Goldah doesn't help this cause either.

Anyone else narrate during their games, using the Sam Pham voice?

I run a perfect play with Dirk popping open at the free-throw line, then when the opposing center rotates up to help, I dump it down to my center for a dunk. Then I say:

              "That's beautiful high-low action there - that's glooooooriooouuus Phamily."

Sam I love your videos but you gotta post more actual gameplay vid vs. people. You show snippets here and there but we, the viewers, can't actually see how your offensive/defensive strategies work throughout a whole game. You cherry pick plays as "proof" that your offense/defensive schemes are working but we all know people adapt and in order for the tutorials to be as helpful as possible we have to see the shortcomings of your settings and how you adapt around them through out a game.

Also don't play easy people in the lowest MyTeam seeding or lowest ranking in Play Now Online. If you really wanna give credence to your strategies you gotta face better competition.

I'm a big fan of Sam Pham, but I dont get to excited about his videos anymore, I love what he does for the community but there are others that are very underrated like jyoung, cards and few others who I want people to start following closely, I'm shocked they have less subs.

I want someone who only picks tier 2 and 3 teams going against elite teams doing tutorial, that's how you get others to be better players, lead by example. But everyone is great at what they do, we share our methods and combine it with ours.

It would help if you posted links to their youtube channel. I wanted to check them out.
