Formatted List of Attributes and Cards as seen in "Prelude" trailer

Edit: I put Cards in the title... I meant badges... Sry.

I have put together a formatted table of all the archetypes, and all of the attribute caps and upgradeable badges for each archetype. Please note, the trailer for whatever reason skipped over Post Scorer. It is an archetype, but I left it off because no data was given.

Be aware that the trailer only featured a player at the SF position, so this list should not be taken as a final product, especially when it comes to each position.

In the first table, you will see a numerical value in each cell. That number will range in value from 1 to 25, 25 being the maximum attribute cap. These work just like the attribute bars we had in 2016. This time, you can't max out just any attribute bar area though like you did in 2016.

I'm mixed on this, and I will have a real opinion when I see what the numerical rating (25-99) is for the bars.

    Anyway, without further ado...

Awesome man! Thanks for the effort - point forward seems to have the most attributes.... If you count how many 15+ attributes each playstyle has - pointforward is the closest to best attribute wise. Eh. Probably won't matter though as i believe there is a limit to how much you upgrade like last year. If anything they have flexibility build wise. But eitherway they all equal 150 upgrades.

A quick overview of what playstyle is best at what

Best shooting wise (both mid and 3pt) = Sharpshooter / Shot creator / Point forward

Best off dribble = Shot creator / Slasher / Point forward

Best Post = Post (not shown but obvious) / 3 playstyles have 14

Best inside = Slasher / Glass cleaner / Creator / Point forward / Probably post

Best Agility = Every style above 18 except sharpshooter

Best defending = Lockdown / Cleaner / everyone else at 15

Best rebounding = Cleaner / Lockdown / Probably post

Best playmaking = Point forward / Slasher / Creator

Best strenghth = Cleaner / Lockdown / Probably post

Obviously this is just SF - but maybe there's a trend - it could depend on height and such too.

I just need to know whats the equivalent of "balanced" from last year.

I want to be able to shoot 3s consistently and dunk on people. Also be a two way threat.

looking @ the upgradeable badges, wondering if they you get the auto when you create your player and all others have to be earned?

Would also be awesome when you choose your body type that guys who choose 'skinny/lean' quick body builds aren't able to attain 'bruiser' badges!

How does the badge system work in 17? What's the idea behind starting with certain badges?

Thanks for taking the time to make that chart. I wonder what a 25 cap is equal to. Probably a 99? I'm guessing each style for the position has the same base stats, just wish it was easier to tell what the cap number represents. I love that they're expanding on this though.

I knew I was in for something good when they called it an RPG at the beginning. YES

Personally, I'm hoping these are the only badges you can get for each playstyle.

What if those are the badges you start with but you can still earn any badge ? Not that I would prefer that way .

It actually creates a play style

Example why give a Sharpshooter dimer and a Point Forward Catch & Shoot when it doesn't fit their archetype. The badges elevate your play style so you actually feel like the player you're trying to become. Certain badges are pointless on certain players

Looks like I can't create KD again this year. I'd pick sharp shooter obviously, but KD's post/layup/dunk/shoot off dribble game is a lot stronger than those buckets allow.

If you wanna be KD, go ahead and create a season & pick SF only. but dont bring him online which has no weakness.

You can be Shaq , Reggie Miller, Jason Kidd etc but not KD who can do it all for the fairness of the online myplayer mode

I've actually argued a lot on these boards for the separation of career and park for exactly that reason. Either it's mycareer or it's mycareerallowedforpark, but I should be allowed to develop exactly the kind of player I want to create. Especially as I like to have numerous careers going. I buy this game primarily for career. If they took park out (hypothetically) then I'd still buy it (even though I do play park), but if they took career out and left park in, then I wouldn't buy it anymore. Watering down one aspect of the game to make sure another mode in the game is as vanilla as possible is the equivalent of robbing Peter to pay Paul.

The main job of these new balances is to make their rttf more squad-like, but as a European I can't even play in that mode at all. Also as a European, I'm not even afforded the luxury of being able to purchase a disk copy of the gold legend edition.

I'm really looking forward to playing 17, but I think I'm equally entitled to have some issues with where the series seems to be heading from my own perspective. I could well be in a minority of one here, and that's completely fine.
