Fair enough man. Surely they've not ditched them though - that'd create all sorts of hell for 2K haha.....

I just don't want to see a goofy faced MJ in the next trailer dabbing like he's 20 years old haha..... that'd really deflate me once again.

Oh man, that IS annoying. Seeing some of the current day basket/game winner celebrations being used by MJ made me cringe.

NO! coz this classic team is a freebie and not 2k's main focus. ill be really fist and scared if they did not update any of the current NBA players.

Classic teams and players are most definitely a main selling point because they know old school fans buy and play the game too.

They are a selling point for a HANDFUL of fans compared to the number of people who buy. I know you guys look at the threads here and figure they make up a larger portion of the fanbase but thats not really true at all..The devs have touched on the info they get back a couple of times...so the fact they are still working on them is a plus to me....

as for 'terrible' choices I dont agree at all...I love the NBA/basketball period, every era....so the fact the '60s-'10s are covered as far as classic teams go is cool with me.

I do think a lot of us on OS forget that this community doesn't make up the majority of the 2K fanbase. We might be comprised of some of the more hardcore, die hard, and passionate fans but we are only a small portion of the 2k fanbase. 8.5 million people bought NBA 2K17 (https://www.google.com/amp/s/venture...-warriors/amp/) I'm not even sure if the 2k portion of OS has over a thousand users. That just shows how much of the minority we are.

I have zero faith in 2k at this stage. I wouldn't be surprised if we see multiple versions of the same player on a team. 96 Jordan getting tired, well I'll put in 93' Jordan

Exactly! If I were to take an educated guess on the fanbase who mainly plays this game, I would say it's mostly people who care mostly about MyPlayer, bombing 3's, and dunking 24/7. I see it when I play it online and when I watch my girlfriend's son play the game with his friends. I see it when I play basketball IRL. Hell, shooting a regular mid-range jumper seems lost on this current player fanbase. It drives me up the wall when I see an online player (in both Live and 2K) pass up an open mid-range jumper to go for a contested dunk or move backwards to shoot a 3.

Anything that 2K does in the name of "sim" is mostly for the old heads on this forum. Most players care more about the stupid green release then playing fundamental basketball. It's one of the main reasons why I stopped My Player online. Too much showboating for my taste.

"Terrible choices" is subjective.

Anyone assuming what 2k did or did not have in mind... is speculation.

Basically someone hears "We believe..." is "THEY SAID 'WE BELIEVE' AS IN 2007 WE BELIEVE WARRIORS IS IN THE NEXT GAME"... um, that might be taken too literal, as in "Classic" may be taken too literal also.

Classic in 2K refers to a Bill Russell Celtics team, but hey oh look there's a 2014 Heat team there also (funny how it's been sitting there in front of our faces for oh what, a couple of years now?).

Why hell, on TV, the NBA Hardwood Classics channel recently showed a 2015-16 Warriors/Cavs game... maybe these OS peeps should inform the NBA what a "real" NBA Hardwood Classic team is, since the ******* NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION APPARENTLY WOULDN'T KNOW.

Lol..it's definitely is a way of life. I swear that everyone only wants to score. I created a wing defender in the other game and held my own. Tried to create a defensive player in 2K17 and was getting killed, because the offensive badges and ratings were too overpowering.

Obviously i can't speak for everyone, but I only buy 2k for the legendary teams. I use them exclusively and don't touch any of the current teams, nor online/Park/my team/fantasy modes.

If they ditched them completely, I wouldn't bother buying the game anymore.

They don't want to accept that classic players, jerseys, etc....are made a point of interest for a reason. They're literally the reason MyTeam is even a thing. They think 2k is adding classic teams just for "bonus" but really its because it makes them money -- anyone thinking otherwise has issues lmao he's salty as **** about it too.

Exactly. Not only that but younger fans want them too. Hell its the younger crowd playing MyTeam and spending money on VC to do pack openings and make these fantasy lineups online.
