have you guys noticed that if you win too many games in a row eventually you will play a team no matter what their record, could be a basement team or a good team but they will come out and just own you. Then no matter how many times you close the gap you can never seem to get over the hump. It's like the CPU will win this game and you have no choice.

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
The biggest reason this is such a problem is that the User AI actively refuses to play any sort of team defense and will leave you on an island the second you make a mistake.
I don't mind getting torched by the opposing point guard if I'm playing poor defense or I get caught on a screen, but its unacceptable when I see a scenario where a teammate could easily rotate and force a pass, but seem to go out of their way not to. Even worse is when I shade another point guard into one of my bigs, only for them to not even bother putting a hand up and allowing me to get dinged for a poor defensive effort.
This year it feels like I'm playing 9 vs. 1 instead of 5 vs. 5.Comment

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
What really needs to happen is screen strength needs to be equalized between the user and CPU. CPU defenders can get around screens very quickly, while users tend to get trapped to allow the CPU to get open.
It just feels like an artificial boost to make the CPU better instead of improving upon the movement.Comment

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
You can skip the Prelude, not the entire storyline. They'll still call you AI and you'll have the story running through your game no matter if you play the Prelude or skip it."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
If you disconnect your console after you launch the game but before you try and make a MyCareer you can make a offline one that will skip the whole thing and be offline and not use VC to level. Its a different experience for sure.Go Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, Wolverines!Comment

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
I remember a post from a dev that said the A.I in mycareer is a little different . It focuses more on the myplayer experience rather than the team as a whole .
What that means is you’re basically meant to takeover , get doubled , get punished for mistakes , etc ..
If you’ve ever played a myleague player lock the experience is completely different . The CPU isn’t hyper focused on you .#1 Laker fan

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
So you are saying they are forcing you to be a ball hogging superstar that has to carry your team on your back because they all play like idiots half the time? That is not the true career experience I want. I mean I want to be a star on the team but I want to do it naturally. It's a team game after all. I mean if I pass to Blake Griffin on a wide open shot I expect him to take the shot and give me an assist not sit there, pumping it 3 times until someone finally runs over and covers him then passing it to the other team giving a turn over. That kind of stuff happens all the time and it makes me half to score 50+ points a game to make up for their stupid stuff.I remember a post from a dev that said the A.I in mycareer is a little different . I couldn’t and really still cannot stand the screens the CPU sets and how hard it is to go over or under. But maybe I am tripping, but to me, it feels like when I don’t hold RT or anything besides moving the LS, I get over them easier.

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
I get what you're saying and agree with a lot of it, but these type of posts are also really irritating down below VVVAnother thing that gets really irritating is anytime someone has a complaint about a mechanic or a flaw, it MUST be because the player isn't good enough or should lower the difficulty or something. That is not the case here. God that really annoys the hell out of me.
It's automatic, 100%, never miss, EVER. Literally. Ever. Never.I have played about 30 games or so with Minnesota and any time, ANY ..TIME...that I make a wrong defensive move or get even just a LITTLE out of position, and the CPU shoots, it's AUTOMATIC make.
I understand they want to make you pay for making a mistake, but no shot should be an automatic and I'm telling you, these shots don't miss...ever.
Not true. High clip, sure. Too often, absolutely. But over-exaggeration posts run rampant in complaints and complaint threads, and that's where you'll usually see someone make the response to practice more or lower the difficulty.Comment

This does not happen. If anyone told you that, they are a liar.
I'm on the Raptors and whenever I pass to Serge Ibaka when he's open, he shoots it or drives to the paint. Same with everyone else. Greg Monroe averages 10ppg when I'm on the court. I feed him constantly. I've never had one instance where a guy pump fakes numerous time before he becomes covered and I'm halfway through season 1.
You do not have to carry either. Kawaii is averaging 25ppg for my team and I never feel I have to carry the team unless I just feel like it. Sometimes the offensive play has me just stand in the corner for the entire play and the team does work. I'm not good enough on the sticks to carry anyway.
Move up to 8-12 min quarters and you won't feel like you have to do all the work to get your stats. If you want to average 15 assists and rarely score, you can do that. Your teammate grade IS punished pretty severely if you make stupid mistakes though. A bad turnover or getting blocked can knock it down almost a half of a letter grade, sometimes more.Last edited by BA2929; 09-21-2018, 02:48 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: MyCareer is extremely scripted, not only about storyline
Guess you are calling me a liar then as no one told me this I see it first hand in my games all the time. I'm 70+ games into MyCareer season on the Pistons, playing 12 min quarter full games. I constantly see my star team mates do really stupid stuff to the point where I will do everything I can to make the play myself before I pass it. I don't have any trust in them at all.
In one game like I said Griffin was wide open for a corner 3 a shot he has made all the time in games. I passed him the ball. He pump faked 3x like he was trying leave a pile on the court and then tried to pass it inside for a turn over.
Other times I have passed it to my team when I'm double covered and they will catch the pass and pass it right back to me while the 2 guys that were double covering me are still standing there and I end up getting stripped. I passed it away for a reason you moron don't pass it back to me. Its like I'm playing hot potato sometimes with my team mates.Go Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, Wolverines!Comment

Yeah, I don’t know what he’s talking about. It definitely happens. Not for everyone because tendencies is a thing and Pau Gasol or Gobert doesn’t do all that pump faking but it definitely happens with Lamarcus Aldridge. I’ve been trying to find a way to get him off my team for the longest.

That's nothing, I've had Danny Green hit a hook shot (25 rating), Alex Len hit a pull up midrange (35 rating), Noel did the same (37 rating), Al Horford did the same (51 rating), John Henson did the same (25 rating), MKG hit a 25 foot fadeaway (52 rating).Comment
