I've tried so many builds just to see the comparison, this is one I haven't seen talked about on here.

Apologies as I don't remember every step I did but it was something along the lines of...
    6'9 240 PF
I can't remember which playmaking pie I chose but it was the only one with ball control above 70.
Even though it was playmaking primary, I only maxed ball control and put passing accuracy to 75. By doing this I was able to make a balanced (mid to high 70s) player in defense, finishing, and mid/3s (under 70)

Takeover was kind of weird as I had rim protector, slasher, shot creator, and glass cleaner. If you put more into playmaking and less into O-boards, you get the playmaking takeover.

In general, I like being able to grab the board and have options for: bringing it up the floor and taking it all the way, drive and kick, or pitching it ahead and getting it back for a trailing J.

    A few misc notes...
    - I think I would like it better if I chose my height and weight first so my attributes don't change after setting them
    - Any non-shooting builds putting anything into free throws? Pro-Am/Rec is gonna be a brick fest at the line this year
I've kinda been approaching this from the opposite direction. With worse shooting builds, I want to make sure I maximize the shooting badges so I can add Corner Specialist and Catch and Shoot so that I'm not a liability so I've basically increased the FT shooting as high as necessary to maximize the shooting badge points.

I also feel like I'll probably draw more fouls with non-shooting builds (from my point of view, I'll be scoring more off cuts to the rim in that case and therefore be more likely to draw contact), so the FT shooting should come in handy.

The areas that I tend to sacrifice are offensive rebounding, standing dunk (won't really need it as a wing/small-ball PF), post hook, and one of driving layup/dunk.

So weird how post control and post hook are in playmaking and slashing also post fades in shooting. Better off having their own category imo. Every build I’ve made so far has no points in anything relating to the post simply because I’d rather spend those points in defense and rebounds. I can see most pf and c builds that arent post scorers completely neglecting the post later on the game cycle.

      Deadeye is so op lol

IMO if someone is going to be a non-shooter and has to get at least 1 shooting badge, I think Hot Zone Hunter might be the way to go. Initially I didn't like the idea of that badge because I thought the bonus you would get should already be reflected with your Hot Zones. But for non Shooting builds, that could be a valuable badge. If you aren't going to be taking jumpshots and will score mainly around rim, Hot Zone Hunter should help you score consistently around rim. I might make a undersized defensive center. So if I'm able to earn a Hot zone around the rim, then HZH should help me score consistently.
Definitely would max FT and maybe Mid Range. Mid Range would only be about 60, but with maybe Bronze Catch and Shoot and a Dimer as Teammate, might be able to hit a shot occasionally.

Even for non shooting build I feel like that’s a must have. 8 pts is all you need for deadeye and range extender on HOF. You have 2 badges that boost deep 2’s to deep 3’s. Forget catch and shoot at that point

With the demo at least only the Primary or Dual Primaries can get HOF badges, rest are limited to Gold.

Shooting badges upgrades aren't easy to get for non shooting builds, at least for a SF, unless you sacrifice A LOT in other areas' attributes.

The most I could get was 5.

Btw: did catch&shoot and corner specialist stack in 2k19? Any info if they will in 2k20?

They stacked in 2K19 and i don't see why they wouldn't in 20.

In case it helps anybody else, I did a quick little comparison of the two builds I put together for SGs so far: a pure Sharp and a 2-way Sharp. Both 6'5", the pure has a 7'1" wingspan while the 2-way only has a 6'8" wingspan.

Not really sure which one I'll end up going with when the game comes out. I'm definitely going to be in a mostly off-ball role regardless.

The athleticism for the 2-way is such a huge difference from 2K19. I made a 2-way Shot Creator last year and he topped out somewhere around like a 70-75 speed and he felt so sluggish almost the entire year. Like I said, still haven't decided for sure which SG I'm going to roll with, but I'm definitely excited about potentially being faster (and also a much better shooter) in 2K20.

i dont get why we need to equip quick draw for our jumpshot to be faster why did they have to change that.

I guess they didn't want every build to be able to have a very fast release

                                Sacrifice.

Separates the weak from the strong honestly.

I never like quick releases so it’s not a detriment for me.

A lot of people use fast release so there’s no real timing to learn it’s mostly used by button users so it can be damn near a light tap and green
