Finally got 2k over the weekend since it was basically free on microsoft store. First off, I’m from Finland so playing 2k obviously involves playing with Lauri Markkanen. So now I’m going back and forth between doing the usual Bulls rebuild or going with a contender and trading for Markkanen. The teams I have in mind are the Lakers and the Rockets. Lakers would be nice but I don’t see the need there for him, so I’m leaning towards the Rockets. Now what I would like to hear is some trade ideas I could do to get him.

Rockets would be tough. They have next to no draft capital to use in a trade, especially given the fact that since the pick would be at the end of the first round youd have to send multiple picks and they don’t have that. The Rockets also have no young valuable pieces.

For contract matching you might have to include Gordon, but his contract pays him a substantial amount when he won’t be worth it.

Your best bet would be to include a third team that would need Gordon, but again, you’d have to include a pick for whoever is taking on that money and the Rockets don’t have that.

Covington is the next guy who has value, but given the Bulls situation you’d have to again include a third team who has assets/picks they’d give up to Chicago to take back Covington. You’d have to find contracts that match, but a deal with the Lakers that sends Covington to LA and Kuzma to the Bulls might be a decent starting point.

I also added the Mavericks as a team that could be fun to play with, but haven’t had the time to look at their assets yet.

That will be the last summer the Mavs will have major cap room before Luka gets his big contract, so you’d probably have to shed other contracts like Dwight Powell to ensure you have the room to go big game hunting. If you have the space, that makes the Mavs a really compelling landing spot for someone like Oladipo to have a starting five of Doncic, Dipo, Porzingis, Lauri and a wing

I’ve always wanted to do a MyLeague with just foreign players on the roster. Luka and Porzingis would be a great starting point.

Dallas would be a great team for it too. They’ve always had good foreign players.

I did end up setting this up last night. Summer the first season and traded for Detroit’s pick. Took Trendon Watford so he can start at the 3. Signed a couple of role players in free agency but saved max space for Vic, though I doubt he’ll actually get a max offer if the Pacers don’t resign him.

Yeah I think the Mavs is the way to go. I’ve played MyCareer now but once I fire MyLeague back up I’m gonna do the Lauri to Mavs thing.

The Pacers are a perennial play-off team, but are rarely serious contenders for a Championship, or even for a Conference title. Their assets are too good to dump for cap space but not good enough to be able to flip for a top 5 player, and even if they could find max room, Indiana isn’t exactly a sought after free agent destination. They’re pretty hamstrung in terms of moves they could make.

However, they have a core of good players in their primes, a top 10 player at his position in Oladipo, and one of the more promising young All Stars in Sabonis. Realistically, they could be one good move away from contention.

The question is: what’s the move?

The only package I could see that would be possible to put together, and that would be appealing enough for another team, would be Myles Turner, Aaron Holiday, and first round picks.

That would potentially get Bradley Beal on the team, which would make them better but probably still not contenders.

What other moves could you see being possible (at least semi-realistic) that could put Indy over the top?

I could see something like Chris Paul i'm not sure how he ages on 2k this year. I don't think you would give up Turner in the move though. So maybe a deal with picks and average players like Warren, Lamb and Doug.

Hey guys, I need to pick your brain, I've been searching all over the net for an answer to the following question: When you using standard online settings, it feels like whether or not a player can be immediately traded after being acquired via trade or gets tagged with a 60 day waiting period is totally random. I fiddled with 1-for-1s and package deals, players with and without bird rights, on rookie or non-rookie deals.. Sometimes we are faced with ''must wait 60 days'' and sometimes we are not, and there doesn't seem to be any logic to it..

- I'm not sure if Porter is in Malone's plans for the future as a big part of the team and he would provide much needed scoring to Orlando.

- They create cap space by getting rid of the contract of Harris and even if they wanna keep Millsap they don't have to offer him as much as they would have without Gordon because they now have safety at the 4.
They also get picks meaning rookie contracts.

First off, you won’t be able to trade those 20 and 21 firsts, so it would have to be 20 and 22 lottery protected.

That being said, it’s an interesting deal. I actually do think Porter is in Malone/Nuggets’ plans as they don’t have much talent at the wing outside Barton, but he’s not an elite scorer, which Porter could become.

Freeing up cap space is great in principle, but the Nuggets aren’t necessarily a free agent destination. Also, the cap space you might free up by dealing Harris is negated by bringing in Gordon and Ross, who just signed extensions.

You mention getting firsts, and thus rookie contracts, but Porter is on a rookie contract so again, not sure about savings.

Fit wise, Gordon and Jokic isn’t seamless. Jokic needs perimeter threats around him, and Gordon needs space in the paint to attack.

The other argument is from the Magic perspective. Giving up two firsts and a 25-year-old uber athletic 4 is a starting point to acquire a super star, and neither Harris or Porter are that. So while I’d be hesitant to pull the trigger on a deal from Denver’s standpoint, I think it’s also a non starter from the Magic’s standpoint too

Seems like a trade that could help both teams out and seems pretty fair just like for like.

I traded Myles Turner and McDermott to the Rockets for Covington and a few first round picks.

I have not played 2k since 2k13 on Ps3 , been a good while . I'm basically new and never used any guidelines or anything of that sort to make moves in the past . So I need / want some advise on realistic moves for my Raptors to make . I'm still not sure if I should trade away Lowry or not , but if I do decide to move him , to lessen the sting of letting go of one of our Franchises legends away I really want to bring in the Canadian Jamal Murray as a replacement . Any thoughts ? If I was to do this what would it take ? Also Bradley Beal is a possibility , but OG , Vanvleet and Siakam are untouchable .

Its hard to come up with sexy Raps trades that are actually realistic. I dont see a path to Beal that doesn’t involve Siakam. Lowry > Murray right now, but Lowry is an old man on an expiring, so it’d only make sense if they’re actively interested in dumping Murray, which I dont think they are. A realistic return for Lowry is probably a good pick or a few solid picks + some players that are useful / have some potential but are ultimately pretty expendable to the other team. Maybe Ntilikina + Knox/Randle + protected 1st from NYK, or Richardson/Thybuille + 1st from Philly? Maybe those could be the skeletons for some trades
