I was very clearly illustrating the issues with Trae's 3pt rating by using players in his range. You know, the primary discussion?

Newsflash: There is a difference between calling Curry an overrated shooter and acknowledging that 2K gives him bonus points to his rating. This is something 2K has historically done for MANY players over the last FIFTEEN YEARS.

      99 Stephen Curry: 446-1054 (42.3%)
      95 Klay Thompson: 311-757 (41.1%)
      94 Joe Harris: 187-407 (45.9%)
      90 J.J. Redick: 276-692 (39.9%)
      90 Danny Green: 237-554 (42.8%)
      90 Buddy Hield: 278-651 (42.7%)
      88 Seth Curry: 134-303 (44.2%)

Curry isn't the only player on his team with a rep-inflated rating.

      90 (NC) Danny Green: 237-554 (42.8%)
      90 (+2) Seth Curry: 134-303 (44.2%)
      89 (-6) Klay Thompson: 311-757 (41.1%)
      88 (-2) J.J. Redick: 276-692 (39.9%)

      86 (+2) Paul George: 307-804 (38.2%)
      86 (+1) James Harden: 426-1165 (36.6%)
      85 (+1) Damian Lillard: 296-801 (37.0%)
      84 (-2) Kevin Durant: 172-468 (36.8%)
      80 (-4) Luka Doncic: 168-514 (32.7%)
      79 (-3) Trae Young: 156-482 (32.4%)

Curry and Klay have major deviation from scale relative to their peers (while Trae and Luka were only moderately overrated). It's ludicrous to suggest Curry deserves a major boost based on "shot difficulty" (which is already accounted for some in scale) while Harden and Lillard are actually UNDERrated without that factoring that in.

      Default Shooting Badges
      Curry: 17 (3 HOF, 14 Gold)
      Klay: 16 (4 HOF, 9 Gold, 2 Silver)
      Harris: 8 (6 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze)

Curry/Klay don't need the bonus points. That matters a helluva lot more than an otherwise 2-4 point disadvantage.
I don’t know how or what shot totals you are using cause that isn’t their numbers from last. It also isn’t any combo of last year plus this year or the last two years but that does make a difference cause the percentages are off. You are again missing the point but it’s cool lol. Now you have and do spend a ton of time with these ratings and we have had agreements and disagreements over the years but it is respected no doubt. But badges aside don’t you think other factors could be taken into consideration this year since they removed the multiple ratings for 3pt shooting and just went with the one rating??

Cause if that is the case again Steph shot easily the best percentage in the league on open 3pt shots. So if the rating is just to determine the player’s ability to shoot a standstill 3pt shot and the badges determine the effectiveness of other types of 3pt shots then Curry should be right at the top of the list.

I don't believe you can discount difficulty though. The types of 3s that Harris and Green are taking are very different than what Curry or even Hield are taking. The question becomes how the ratings work now with so many badges. Is it just a rating for an open 3? Should badges be used for those who hit tougher shots than just catch and shoot (though there is a badge for that too)?
