Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
My issue arises since I decided to turn feedback off. I find the feedback is more distracting than the meter for me now as my eyes immediately draw to the top of the screen.
So no meter AND no feedback seems like I’m setting myself up for too much a challenge and frustration.
The BEST shot meter I’ve used us 2K20 Mobile. It may be the same as 2K13 as that’s the engine that game uses. It has no meter, just gives it feedback via a grade (A is in green, and greens were NOT guaranteed makes which I loved) and that feedback is right above you, so Youre eyes stay on the player.Comment

Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
This year I leave the meter in for the pro stick. That's kind of been a good middle ground. Moving shots have shot meter and spot up shots don't have a meter.
I really wish they forced all these pros to use no meter and no green flash. That's the way the game should be played. Zero HUD.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

I also turn off all basically all info on the screen. I'd really wish there was a option to remove takeover showing up as well. I just wish there was more visual things they did to the players instead of all this **** flashing on the screen. Or like I said in another thread put all that stuff in up d-pad. So if your interested in all that badges, flashing takeover and green releases. Just press up and boom you can have your arcade experience.
One thing I turn off when Humans are around is the passing icons and pick and roll overlay showing up. I have family members who are quick to steal once they see that [emoji23]Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
Despite liking how the meter looks, I've been playing without the meter. Personally (at least on next-gen), I think it's visually easier to determine the release point of the player. It's basically during the time when the ball is "resting" in the players' hand, right before the wrist flick to shoot the ball. I use RealFG% for layups/dunks, so I can't speak on that, but I've been mostly satisfied with those results. Ironically, I shoot a lower percentage on current gen...long story, but I play offline modes on next gen and any 5v5 online modes on current gen.
I'm mostly play MyTeam and PNO.Comment

Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
I finally turned the meter off this year and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. My offensive production went way up because I'm no longer taking my eyes off the action to look at the meter so I'm much more focused and locked in.Comment

Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
So yeah I can’t do the meter.
It just looks WAYYYY better and feels so much more natural without it. I can actually “feel” the players.
I’ll do whatever it takes for no meter. Right now jacking my shot success sliders up as I get the hang of it.
Also, if I adjust the shot timing sensitivity slider in the USER section, will that affect timing sensitivity without a meter? Because that can be a good “fix” for starters who aren’t using a meter. And would I want to raise or lower that meter to make it easier to time shots correctly?Comment

Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
I’ve gotten so used to ‘feeling’ my shots (that even includes the stepbacks, spin jumpers and pull-ups) that I have no use for the meter, so it stays off. If I have doubts, I go to the Gatorade gym and shoot certain shots until I get a feel for them.Comment

Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
I turned off the shot meter at the outset, not to make things more difficult on myself or anything, but just because I found it to be sort of a distraction this year. I had a hard time identifying where the ideal release point was on the meter and ended up ignoring everything on the court except the meter itself on my shot attempts.
I haven't played a ton, so I'm pretty bad sans meter right now, so maybe I'll give the meter another shot down the line.
I’ve always been a RP% guy but in experimenting with the meter this year, I too found it hard to perceive the release point. My eyes kinda ‘lose’ the flow of the meter when it crosses into that color portion. I’d prefer it if you could turn that portion off so that the meter is uniform except for the exact release point line.Comment

Re: Who’s using the shot meter in 2K22 (and who’s not)
So I rose my shot success sliders 2-4 points for now, and most importantly lowered user timing sensitivity to 40.
It’s GLORIOUS. I can actually see jumpers now and not some dumb generic meter. Shots go in more, etc.
It’s the ONLY way to play. You start getting the hang of learning releases once you gain more confidence. Giving yourself training wheels initially to help shots go in is a good way to build that muscle memory.Comment
