is it? i had the problem still when i tried it out the other day. i deleted everything too - settings, profile. then i started a new association and couldn't sign pops to a team. i tried others too. so i did the fix, and only then did it work.

Ok no worries, that's all i need to know, this glitch stays on the front page.
What about d-league players getting signed before the free agents, has this been sorted by patch #2 anyone?

Can anyone provide more details on the alleged FA 'glitch'? I've read through the comments thus far and none of them appear to be accurate post-patch.

I booted the game up, downloaded the latest Living Roster, started an Association, and I was able to sign people like Pops, A. Daniels, etc., without needing to manipulate their contracts in the front end.

Is there anyone that can still reproduce this using the latest Living Roster? If so, can you please PM me exactly what you are doing so I can get this ironed out?

            1. Player Roles: Turned off (Only if you have downloaded Patch #2) - This will stop a glitch where the Bigs in the game will throw stupid amounts of 3pt/Long range shots causing their stats to be messed up.
            2. CPU Trades: Turned off - This will stop the most stupidest CPU trade logic in a sports game from ruining your Association (top players being traded to 5-6 different teams within a single season!) To get around this: Only turn cpu trades on at the start of February (that way you only get 2 weeks of crap trading before the trade deadline)
            3. Alter all D-League players stats: Offensive & Defensive awareness stats lowered by 20 & potential lower to 37(This stops the cpu from signing all the D-League players and leaving all the free agents to get old and ****ty - its just not realistic)
            4. Set the cpu to sort out Pre-Draft workouts: This will 9/10 avoid you losing the pre-game team & player intros in the rest of your seasons.
            5. BEFORE you start your association, you have to go to those players that have the "2010 - 2011 contract glitch" like (Boykins, Udoka, Antonio Daniels, Tinsley, Barry) & so on.... sign them to a team & then edit their contracts so that is only a value in the first year & the others are grayed out & then save.... then release the player from the team & repeat steps for all of the problem players.... save the roster & start a new association using that roster & the issue will be resolved.

If anyone has anymore suggestions or if i've missed anything off the list then please post them up.

So are all these "glitches" because of the 2nd patch? Did the 2nd patch fix ANY of these glitches or cause all of them? I am re-purchasing this game on Friday and I am strictly an offline (association mode) player. I did download the 1st patch (which was great) before I traded it in. So I am just trying to figure out if I should even download the 2nd patch. I don't play online AT ALL. I am not even ever connected to live when I play my 360. The only time I connect is to download a roster set from someone or download a patch for a game. I have read that there have been some improvements to the gameplay however with this 2nd patch. So I am still wondering if it is worth all the trouble?

Something I have also been wondering.....which roster sets are all of you guys using? I wonder if some of these issues could be tied to a roster set from 2kshare? Anybody using Living rosters having all of these issues with the 2nd patch??

sim, you brought up a good point...i'm using a custom roster so this is definitely it. i had the problem in my old association after the patch as well and i figured the fix would apply to that. this is a minor nuisance though. do you have any insight or fixes around the 3 pt. glitch and the fallout from it by any chance like tons of CPU trades when turn off player roles?

Point 1. This was introduced by the 2nd patch....(i know what your thinking)
Points 2 to 4. Glitch's from when the game was released - no patches have solved these problems
Point 5. You made a very good observation here, and this will need testing more, i will try to do a little testing on this later on, but if other people can have a go at signing FA's using Living rosters and not custom rosters, and post your results on here.

Ok i think we may have found the fix to the FA glitch!!!
                      Simballer found the solution above.
I have tested it in 5 different associations using different teams every time and using the living rosters every time. I was able to sign all FA's to sensible 1yr contracts. (btw i had player roles turned off each time too)

An update on the D-League bug from pg. 1 aswell: See pg. 1 (Updated)

Bump. I had to dig this up as the trade deadline is closing in and people are starting their associations.

Anyone tested Point 3 out? Does lowering D-Leaguers potential to 35 make a difference?

Yes. Lowering D-leaguers potential to 35 definitley does stop the cpu signing them over F.A's, i unfortunatley do this everytime i start an association.
I dont generally go through each D-League team and change them, at the start i spend say 20mins just editing all of the D-Leaguers in the Free Agent list who's rating is 58 and above. Then i will check the "transaction news" in "League news" in the "NBA.com" section every saturday from the 7th of November and if a team signs a D-Leaguer with a rating of 57 or less, i'll go to Rosters, find the team he's signed for, edit his potential to 35, then that player will never play a game for the team who signed him and the team wont re-sign him once his mere 400k contract ends after 1 year.
I know this might sound long winded but honestly its not whilst your doint it.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents on the D-league. I got this tip from somewhere on the forum. But when you start your Association or even 4 yrs into it like I am with no 2nd patch, you can age the CPU D-leaguers by editing their ages and years in the NBA to the maximum setting. This will effectively cause all the CPU D-leaguers to "retire". Now in my next season after I did that, the D-league is now filled with known NBA players and players from my imported draft class. This does take time but it was worth it.

Also I only control 2 teams in my Association. After 4 seasons the rosters on all the other CPU teams were horrible. This is with trades turned off until Feb. But you know the scenario, teams with 5 PGs and 5 PFs all rated about the same with 1 SF or C. I was fed up with this so I resigned from my 2nd user control team and became the GM for every team in the NBA and fixed every roster and rotation before the start of the season. I even edited contracts so that most teams now have salary CAP space to make trades in Feb. It took a lot of time but it was worth it.

i had no idea the cpu did this..... i was just getting back into 2k10 aswell but everytime i do i discover more glitches!
i know that i can control all 30 teams to get around this but in absolute all honesty... i dont want to. I want to concentrate all my efforts on one team!
I've seen someone mention on another thread that you can sort this glitch even if you only run one team. Apparently you resign from your team, choose the team with the messed up rosters, change their rotation etc then resign and take on your original team again.... well i just tried this and when i resign from the team who had messed up rosters, i cant take control of my original team???? they are not there to choose? Can somebody please tell me where im going wrong???
