I think it was this thread, someone stated that the inside the paint game is way too easy, and that's why in the paint #'s are so disproportionate...
I counter with the argument that it's not that inside the paint is too easy, it's that anything else is to unviable an alternative.
2K - if as a user controlled player, my guy has the little "3" symbol next to his name, it's OKAY if I am able to make a 3 pointer with him.
2K - if I drive to the basket and get behind the defense, it's OKAY if I make the layup / dunk
2K - LeBron James misses shots in real life, it's OKAY if the CPU controlled LeBron misses some shots too.
2K - The purpose of playing defense is to stop the opponent from scoring, therefore it's OKAY if the CPU misses a shot when there are 3 defenders putting their hands in his face.
Ugh, it's just so frustrating how I am -forced- to play, nothing but pick and rolls getting Dwight Howard dunks as he runs to the basket, because Jameer Nelson, Mickael Pietrus, and Vince Carter can't finish on layups, and Rashard Lewis JJ Redick, and Jameer Nelson can't hit wide open shots in hot spots while "on fire", all the while watching the CPU players hit whatever shot they desire, whether they are wide open, or have 3 defenders contesting the shot.
That's not "sim"Comment

Sliders! Use them! Trust me.I think it was this thread, someone stated that the inside the paint game is way too easy, and that's why in the paint #'s are so disproportionate...

Sorry to be so terse or direct, but I see you complaining a lot, if you don't tune the sliders to fit your skills, you really are doing yourself a disservice.Last edited by rangerrick012; 07-05-2010, 11:10 PM.Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
Seriously guys. I play 2k extensively and with a few slider changes to offense, defense, and tendencies the game runs a lot like sim. 35-45 rebounds on 10 min quarters. 40-50% shooting from both teams, the cpu running smooth and sometimes more than one option offense. etc.
With slider tweaks and more practice a lot of the complaints so heavily spoke about here can be fixed.
Of course it's still a way from replicating a Human player but it's much better than the default.
Oh and with these settings in Association. My games always have a different outcome, to close games, to me blowing out an opponent to even me myself getting blown out by lesser teams if i don't show up.Last edited by TalentedJB; 07-06-2010, 07:19 AM.Favorite teams:

Sliders and stats/results aren't the problem man. I'm a slider junky and it's my passion. I had no problem tweaking the game to give a perfect end result stats (with good variability).Seriously guys. The issues are too much suction, sliding, unresponsive controls, too many canned animations etc. It's frustrating when you see an open cutter and have to wait for your guard to finish his animation before zipping the pass to him.
Sliders also don't affect the CPU's AI. The CPU will always get most of their points from the paint or from down town.Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
I know that it's not a sliders issue when I literally couldn't score a jumpshot until 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
I literally bricked EVERY jump shot I took until the 3rd quarter, and all in all, I made like 6 jump shots all game. I had to dunk every basket I made off pick and rolls and back door slashes.
Meanwhile, do I even need to mention what the CPU did?Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
When the cpu makes a run, you, you guessed it!, CHEESE!!!!!

Take your best guy, side step the defense and dunk, cherry pick, go baseline until you regain your former lead.
I mean thats what I do(Not online of course!

Really when you think about it that's what most teams do in real life. Try to get a quick transition basket or drive the lane to stop a run.Comment

the collisions animaions could be avoided if you press the opposite direction of the player on the analog........Comment

If they do happen, if you hold down the shot stick or button you have a higher chance of it going in for some reason.Comment
