Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
Thanks I'll try that. I would say 80% of the game is the CPU doing this. Rebound, fast break, layup or dunk. It's annoying as it means the FGA is over 100 per game and the scores can get just ridiculous on 12 minute quarters.Comment

Yea...You'll notice your players after a shot won't even try to get boxed out. And that you'll have at least 3-4 players in the backcourt.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
The last game I just played. Game 1 in the playoffs, I had a decent lead of around 15 points when the CPU obviously decided it needed to make it a close game.
Cue the second half being utterly dreadful for me. Countless passes went astray leading to turnovers, missed layups, missed dunks, wide open jumpers wouldn't fall.
Told it to always double team wade and then once on him used the button to call for a double team as well. Not a single double team on wade the entire second half. Couldn't get a rebound either.
CPU went off in the 3rd and couldn't miss.
Finally gave in and let it win when I got a wide open dunk with Carter on a fastbreak, went up for the dunk and it clipped him right through the backboard and he landed out of bounds.
Also received injuries to Jameer Nelson, JJ Reddick, Dwight Howard and Kristic.
Isn't the first time I've seen a player clip through the backboard either.Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
The problem I have with the big man overthrow is that it's not exactly realistic. Big men a lot of the time start fast breaks by rebounding, and then throwing the outlet pass up ahead. If anything their passes are less accurate because they often bounce on the ground instead of being a football style throw and catch. I don't really see anyone rocket a pass out of bounds at the other endline thoughComment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
What kills me is the failure of the CPU teammates to rotate accordingly. I feel like the defensive lapses are ridiculous. Am I playing the 1st quarter of the All-Star game or am I playing in a close 4th quarter game?
I also love when the ref holds the ball for 30 seconds before bouncing it to my player trying to in bound the ball.
I really do wish there was a way to choose if I want to bounce pass or chest pass.
Please explain to me how an average NBA guard can perform a behind the back dribble to escape the double team?

Turning off clutch factor helps with that. I know I have it off, but some people don't like to. Also make sure if you turn it off to turn the clutch slider to 0 as well. The last game I just played. Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
i think my issue is slightly different, and this isn't only in 2k10, also happens to me all the time in college hoops 2k8 which is probably my favorite game on the planet lol.. anyways with the rotations, i hate it when the other team dumps it into their bigman, and me usually controlling the defender guarding the other teams poorest shooter so i can sag off and help out, i go down to manually double team with the thought process that the worst that could happen is a bad shooter gets an open look... problem is my teammates will urgently switch and rotate to said poor shooter, leaving a much better shooter WIDE OPEN on the other side of the court...
i wish there was a way you could set a player who you always want to leave open while double teamingComment

If anything there are too few turnovers. I dont understand the beef people have with bad passes. Show me someone that isn't leading the league in fewest turnovers in their chise.Comment

Same here. I wish for more turnovers. Right now I average about 5 a game in my associations.Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
very true, but they can be implemented much better, i want to see passes that the receiver bobbles causing the defender to reach in and tie em up along with other possibilities... there should be more "bad" passes in halfcourt, and by bad i mean passes to the left right, high or low but still within reach, that is far more realistic than the stuff right now that sails out of bounds...
in reality the lead passes from a center to a guard to start a fastbreak are among the easiest passes in basketballComment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
I play 12 minute quarters.
I'm leading the league with fewest turnovers by quite a large margin. There needs to be more turnovers (and a variety of them, not only just tossing the ball away due to a bad pass).
I know developers believe we do not like control taken out of our hands in these situations, but to properly emulate basketball there needs to be a variety of ways to lose the ball.Comment
