Re: The Post-Up Game Video Thread
No, I'm not wrong. You're comparing this to Euroleague, or FIBA, where the rules are different, this is where you're mistaken. In the NBA you are entitled to what is considered a "Gather Step", it's very clear in the rule book.
Gaining control of the ball is your "Gather". Only after you have control, or have gathered, do your two steps, or pivot, begin.Originally posted by NBA Rulebook“The first step occurs when a foot, or both feet, touch the floor after gaining control of the ball.”
Here read THIS ARTICLE for some more insight. Notice in that video at regular speed to an untrained eye that looks like a blatant travel. Yet, it's not. The play is perfectly legal according to the rule book and is explained and broken down in slow motion.Comment

Re: The Post-Up Game Video Thread
both dont put simultaneously both feet on the floor when they stop their dribble, so the first foot on the floor is automatically the pivot foot, which they both change before scoring. travel.Comment

Re: The Post-Up Game Video Thread
the "gaining control of the ball" part is irrelevant here as they already have have the control and both dribbled the ball already before the travel occurs. btw euroleague, fiba or nba have the same rules for travel, xept the nba refs dont give a f about it as long as there is some showtime. travel. let's bet.No, I'm not wrong. Re: The Post-Up Game Video Thread
You obviously didn't follow the link I posted which further breaks down how a gather works, or you simply don't understand what the gather step is. You can dribble and still have a gather step, I'm not sure why you think it's irrelevant here, as it's perfectly applicable. It's real simple. They dribble, gather their dribble, and then pivot. Perfectly legal in the NBA, I've already shown the rule stating this. Regardless whether you agree with the rule or not, it's there, and the two videos in question represent perfectly legal plays.the "gaining control of the ball" part is irrelevant here as they already have have the control and both dribbled the ball already before the travel occurs. btw euroleague, fiba or nba have the same rules for travel, xept the nba refs dont give a f about it as long as there is some showtime. travel. let's bet.

I will not dispute this any further since there's not much more to dispute, and it's veering off topic. The proof is in the pudding.
EDIT:
No, it's not. Here, let me quote my earlier statement. " Notice in that video at regular speed to an untrained eye that looks like a blatant travel. Yet, it's not." This clearly shows your lack of understanding of the Gather + Two steps or Pivot rule.Last edited by bSmooth; 09-15-2011, 11:25 PM.Comment

Re: The Post-Up Game Video Thread
I actually tried this same idea last year when 2K11 dropped. I created different videos for different offensive moves, but those threads never gained traction. I'll see if I can find them and bump them.I wish you guys had done this months ago... would've been really helpful in fleshing out the post game.
Actually it would be really helpful if you guys could make another thread (mods could sticky it) and just fill it with video clips of dribble moves, shots, dunks, post moves, etc. that you'd like to see in NBA 2K13. Really nothing's off limits. Anything you want to see in the game, post it. You have my word that we'll do our best to translate those videos to the game.Last edited by Mos1ted; 09-16-2011, 08:39 AM.According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.Comment

Re: The Post-Up Game Video Thread
I'd like to see Scola's scoop layups and post moves, but really i'd settle for the 2k insider not giving him freaking Dwight Howards jumper. oh and please please please stop allowing Scola to dunk. he's dunked the ball maybe 3 times in his entire nba career, I'd prefer him not dunking at all to him doing standing dunks and stuff like that.
