Looks like you still will need to manually edit the draft classes alot. I mostly try to only have 1-2 Players with 85+ potential and Rest of the Top10 like 70-75.

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
I really don't understand why 2K would continuously program these mediocre players with such high potential ratings. It doesn't seem like such a big deal until you get deep in to your Association. Here are some notable player ratings that I came across just by simulating several years into the future.
Darren Collison 89
Ricky Rubio 93
Anthony Randolph 89
Jonny Flynn 88
Xavier Henry 87
Patrick Patterson 88
Ed Davis 86
Landry Fields 86
Brandon Jennings 94
Now I am not going to sit here and say that there isn't a chance that any of these players will showcase the talent in real life that will justify these type of rating in the future. As a matter of fact I'm sure a couple of those guys will probably be all-stars at least once in the future. However, to have ALL of those guys with all-star type ratings (in addition to many many others) makes the mode less enjoyable. Bottom line: potential gotta come down.
And Pit, I've been working on some draft classes but they are not going to be compatible with the default roster. I am going to have my draft classes set up just like I did last year. I plan on making about 9 or 10. Most will be mediocre with some good players sprinkled around in there but I always have a bust draft (see the 2000 NBA draft) and one where a lot of good players are spread throughout the draft. I also include players that will have low overalls but excel at a certain skill. I suggest that anyone that does use my draft classes to just scout and not cheat to find the gems lol. Makes it more interesting and exciting that way.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Look forward to checking our your draft classes. I know I'll definitely be making my own...as well as going through and editing the potential for the guys currently in the NBA.I really don't understand why 2K would continuously program these mediocre players with such high potential ratings. Yeah I definitely will man. The thing that's taking me kinda long is the fact that I'm going and lowering potential across the board. I've already got a base for a few draft classes but I need to finish them up and test them in Association to see how they fit with the real players.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Just wondering if anyone else plans on lowering potential for most of the players? I've done so and it definitely helps the overabundance of 80+ players in the future. Anyone else plan on doing this also?SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
I am - going to pick up the game today (FINALLY) and get to work editing the players.
What I'll probably do is drop everyone by roughly 10 points each (except for a few young guys I see becoming absolute stars (Blake Griffin, John Wall, Kevin Durant, etc.)
What do you suggest doing to evenly lower potential?
(BTW - this thread is a GREAT idea - wish I had it last year with 2k11)Comment

Thanks man. I just think we can all help each other to make the game more realistic and enjoyable.
And as far as editing potential, it was kind of difficult. I'm probably going to go back and re-edit some things but what I was lower a lot of players by 10, but some were already relatively low so I only lowered them by 5. It was kind of on a case by case basis. Like I said, I'm just experimenting right now. But the results seem to be an improvement so far.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Good deal - just picked the game up (Larry Legend cover baby!) and am going to play around for a while, then start taking a look at potential. Probably a case by case basis for me as well, but I'll probably drop most by 10/5.Thanks man. I just think we can all help each other to make the game more realistic and enjoyable.

Hey swagger, did you want me to upload my roster so you don't have as much work to do? Its cool if not but I figured I'd offer. I also got about three draft classes to upload. I want to tweak some things but they are basically just about ready and compatible with rosters that have lowered potential. Anybody just let me know if you're interested.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

DJ Augustin 79
Ramon Sessions 79
Jeff Green 79
JJ Hickson 78
Landry Fields 78
Al Farouq Aminu 78
Serge Ibaka 70 - Way too low IMO.
I probably left out at least 5-10 key players...this is just a quick look through the league.
Already, I see a lot of players rated way too high.
In Ibaka's case, he's 75 overall now...and yet his potential is a 70?! So he's going to get WORSE as he progresses (age 22)??? Huh??!
And of course, there's no reason for Garnett, Duncan, and Nash to have such ridiculous potential...they're not going to get any better.
Hopefully this helps in some way - I'm still working with it.
One last question: If someone's potential is 80...does that mean they will never get to 81? And does it mean they are guaranteed to reach 80 at some point in their career?Comment

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
Well, here's something I learned about NBA2K12.... someone with an 80 potential can very easily pass an overall of 80. The potential isn't necessarily a benchmark for what overall they will reach but instead gives you an idea of how many points they can/will increase each year. For example, a player with 80 potential comng out of the draft with an 80 overall can reach a 90 overall. And I've seen a lot of players with 75 potential reach the mid 80s. Its weird how they do it honestly.
And it sucks you're on PS3. I'm on 360 man.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes
