I completely agree with the OP! Keep the gameplay the way it is and patch bugs.

Re: Please dont turn down gameplay intensity this year
Every year the first matchup I play is Nuggets vs Mavericks. Normally Dirk rips me a new one but he only took no more then 12-15 shots the 3 games Ive played so far. Jkidd is shooting the ball more.
Im actually afriad to turn off clutch factor because without the buzzer beaters, I dont think the cpu can keep up.Comment

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year
Just started looking on these forums a week before 2k12 was release. And this post inspired me to make an account and reply. I Agree 100% with all of you. I'm tired of these casual players. Good players are finally getting noticed and bums are getting exposed. I would love to see rank matches on hall of fame though.Comment

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year
very true. it has only been 2 days. I have gone from losing by 20 on superstar sim to beating the Heat and Thunder with Grizzlies. You just have to learn how to play the game. Start running plays because it makes it much easier to score.Comment

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year
A much needed and awesome thread Dre. I agree 100%. What tipped me off that something changed last year was that "out the box" you absolutely HAD to run plays to be successful. one on one Isomotion would very rarely produce points. Then suddenly that changed...
Now again this year, AS OF NOW, you HAVE to run plays to score consistently and I absolutely love that. Yes there are instances where your A.I teammates will strangely come to help on drives but that can be changed in the settings. So unfortunately, we are still in the minority. The complainers right now outweigh the patient by a large margin and I see them changing it again. For all our sakes, I pray they don't..."Your character is who you really are, your reputation is what you're perceived to be by others" - John Wooden(former UCLA head coach)Comment

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year
I think we can all agree bug should be fixed
..but people complaining and whining because they're getting schooled and this game isnt letting them have their way is not the way to go
THIS TIME we're not sitting by and not showing our displeasure for a dumbed down game... I like the product, if it aint broke dont attempt to change it or fix the solid game that it isComment

I got schooled a couple days ago by Miami with Boston. They started the game 18-4 by just running and pushing the ball much like the real Miami Heat. It was just like game 1 of the the Playoff series last year. I could have easily hit restart or said the computer is "cheating" but Miami was exploiting me from the beginning. Failing to realize how to counteract their fast breaks was my mistake.
Now I'm not saying they're aren't issues or bugs, because there are. However, this year is the year you can truly say star players play like they're suppose to play. You have to plan how to defend against them with the players you have. Another example is I was getting lit up by Baron. Rose was in foul trouble so I decided to change up defensive match ups from Rose to Bogans on Baron. Despite this Baron continued to do his thing. This forced me to take out Bogans (which was shooting well at the time) and put in Brewer. After a couple defensive adjustments and the substitution, Baron was done. He went 1/7 after and the feeling of success was gratifying.
The bottom line is you have to work on defense and understand player tendencies, match ups and other things which I absolutely love! I don't want 2K to dumb down the AI. I want them to be ruthless and exploit my mistake which is what basketball is about.Comment

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year
The problem I see way too often with these kinds of threads is that when people complain about something they feel is legitimately wrong with the gameplay, people just come in and say "the game is awesome, you just suck" or "learn how to play real basketball".
The defense is not equipped this year, plain and simple. Any player that has any ability to shoot the ball, you have to be ALL OVER them to force a miss. At the same time, you're not supposed to go for any pump fakes....that doesn't make sense. Tight defense is just impossible this year, as jump shooters will still make the shot unless you go for a block, and any player with speed with just blow by you.
Also, the cpu has a great ability to get back to stop fast breaks and avoid fouling even if they fall for the pump fake, something you as the user cannot do. Add to that a lot of the unstoppable offensive animations and the difficulty of forcing contact with players, and it's a big problem.
On offense I can score, run plays, and be effective. But defense seems broken so far.Comment

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year
i really don't know what you're talking about... on D we have so many weapons to counter the smart CPU it's just beautifuli can't feel you bro... i can stop pg from penetration by simply using the left stick... push him outside... use hedge... etc. your full arsenal!!!! using CZAR words once again:" play basketball don't play video games!" and i know for sure it's not perfect... so is the real life........ and now let's get w.... some a....
