    Re: Too much bumping/holding.

I'm sorry if there has been an answer to this question, but I'm not goin' through this whole thread to find the answer. Is there a solution to this problem? I can't run a play/get to my spot without the defender impeding my process to the point the shot clock runs out. Any help would be appreciated.

I wish there were man...but the only thing I've found that can somewhat alleviate the insane amount of pushing/bumping/pulling/grabbing of your player when trying to get to your spot off-ball...is running out of bounds whenever possible. The CPU wont stone wall/push you the opposite way once your over the end/side lines, so that helps. But if the play calls for you to go to a spot or get somewhere in the paint...your screwed, because no matter what you do or don't do the CPU just pulls/grabs/pushes you in the opposite direction. It's maddening...especially since it causes broken plays, and SHOULD be a foul.

I'll try that! Thanks fam. It's frustrating though. I know basketball is a physical game but Jesus! It's almost like they didn't test the game before release. That coming from a big 2K fan.

There is a fix for this. Lower CPU On Ball Defense. Under 50, and although they'll hold you in the paint, you can sprint your way around them.

I have mine at 45.. I still get held, but much easier to get around.

            Re: Too much bumping/holding.

I had this issue before and the more I play, the better I get avoiding this annoyance but It did get so bad to the point where I got an offensive 3 second in the paint because I literally couldn't move. Even when I tried to just go back away from the defender, sort of got sucked into the animation. Now I just run so wide around the defender, that it doesn't even happen.

One trick that I use: As the D starts to bump me, I hit the post-up button twice in quick succession. This seems to break the animation and allows me to continue in my rotation. you just have to be careful not to get clipped by the guy as you pass him by after that.

                Re: Too much bumping/holding.

The ONLY thing that helped me was, NOT HOLDING TURBO... But then I get this slow, nonchalant free balling jog through the paint... I need more responsive controls...

But yeah, just mosying through the paint, instead of charging through, breaks the animation of the hold quicker, than if you hit turbo... You will get bumped... and it does slow down the play...

Im just mad that the CPU can do whatever they want down there, and I can't even simply pass by... some BS!

Agree 100% on this. People on here keep saying "just don't press turbo when your running off screens/trying to get open off ball"...but if you don't press turbo your guy (especially in My Player) barely even has a slight jog...making it nearly impossible to actually get open at all. When have you ever seen this crap in real basketball??

The bumping is annoying its been in the game since 2k11 .Nothing u can do about except fake out the cpu by having him run into his own man or one of your men while he is chasing you.

I appreciate all the help guys. I just find it strange that we have to go to these lengths to solve something as simple as running to a spot on the floor.

I get around the D by running out of bounds a lot like mentioned. But what really drives me crazy is when I'm called to set a pick in the paint, then I get held in there and get a 3-second violation because they won't let me out. That's happened to me maybe 4 times in 25 games.

                          Re: Too much bumping/holding.

You have to time your use of the turbo just right. Sometimes as soon as I catch a pass, I'm able to blow right by the defender by getting a good angle plus using the turbo. Sometimes. Other times you have to be a bit more methodical in how you'll get past your man....get him off balance and so on.

I do understand the frustration though. Is there bumping, yes at times, mainly off the ball. But not to the extent
we see from time to time in the game. That would be a blocking foul.

If you hold the B button down (on 360, or circle for ps3) ,which obviously is how you set a pick, the defenders won't push/pull you around, and you can still walk around when in this stance... so I normally just hold B BEFORE I start trying to the spot I'm supposed to set the pick. It's frustrating but I suppose it works for now...

What's the news on this bumping/holding? Is it corrected? Please, only those that agree it's there (or was there) and a is problem respond.
