These jokers who were shooting a hundred contested threes off isolation are not skilled players. Even with this handicap you should have been stomping them with solid team ball. They need to concentrate on fixing things like the Euro 3 and how contested shots are getting better grades than knocking down jumpers in an open gym. Now this problem is also compounded with inflated offensive rebounding numbers too. I've seen Nick Collison grab more offensive boards in one game with five minute quarters than his real-life counterpart will see in an entire month.

Like I said in another thread, I use Miami. I can score regardless. But I miss getting contributions from everyone. Now I'm just dunking over people with LeBron every trip down the court like it's NBA Jam and that's no fun, at least for me personally. It needs readjustment to reward good shots.

The point was to say I'm not complaining about this change just because I'm losing games or celebrating the change just because I'm winning now. A little objectivity could go a long way in threads like these that are attempting to solve problems.

But this is a videogame. There should be some kind of reward / punish system in place. Working for open looks should be rewarded and contested shots punished, etc etc.

That said, I think 3pt is fine. Then again I'm playing blacktop most of the time.

Our point ,you're using the ultimate cheese team, no actual 2k skills required. So I would hope you win.

This isn't a problem for blacktop mode. Come join us. Real ballers play blacktop not 1vs1

It's the ultimate cheese team because the three pointers aren't working. You're exactly right. In a game where you absolutely have to dominate the paint, which team do you think is going to win? Heat, Lakers, Thunder, Clippers. Now I just let guys like Durant and Martin have wide open threes all day if the poor guy is unfortunate enough to shoot them instead of killing me with Westbrook.

This one honestly really surprises me. If the so-called sim community thinks this needs absolutely no adjustments with the easy shots not falling and ridiculous offensive rebound numbers turning the game into NBA Jam with zone defense, I guess that's how it will be. I loved the increase of reach-in fouls. Did you guys dislike that one too? Wouldn't surprise me.

Sim players don't play quick ranked game (or any game mode that's on pro/casual) to begin with. Or if they do they don't expect anything from it.

Okay, I took this member's advice and spent some time in quick match to see for myself if it is indeed different than playing online with friends in my hall of fame, sim sliders with no changes and 12 minute quarters.

Obviously the quick match settings are what they are and they should be by design easier than hall of fame, sim sliders I am accustomed to.

I think I played about 10 games for my test. People probably thought I was stupid but I spent some games chucking threes the whole time, other games with more twos than three's and some just playing the way I normally do.

On defense, I didn't really guard anyone. I spent the time actually sagging off and giving them the shot so that it was so obvious they should take it.

A few guys finally figured out that they weren't going to hit the three since my initial observations are that the original poster is correct, that there is something not quite right with the three ball.

In most of my matches, the highest I typically saw was about 25 percent from the field. Once I shot 5 of 12 from three with Paul George but that was probably the best I did with any kind of volume from any one player and missing the most with Gerald Green.

While I think that in general the advice I tend to give, that shot selection is the most important thing you can focus on, I'm open to agreeing that there's either a problem or you have to be overly selective.

Everything else played as usual - even the offense running to block out the defense for the offensive rebound. I'm also kind of surprised that the engine that drives the play with friends might be different from the quick match engine.

My guess is if there was any tweaking done just recently and pushed out, it's probably a short term problem that they will fix after the holiday. If they did tweak, it probably wasn't the best idea to do it before they went on break and people getting the game for Christmas. But that is just me thinking out loud as I don't know what is up there.

In either case, the quick match arena, while it can battle harden you still continues to be a joke from a pure basketball point of view in my opinion.

I'll post my last box score from quick match here. Most box scores if I posted them would be in the 12 to 25 percent range shooting. The teams ranged from the Thunder, Heat and Knicks

Wow, I'm seriously impressed with you sir, an honest person taking the time to check for themselves and change their opinion, at least partially, instead of fervently lashing out without evidence.

With that said clearly there's a bit of an issue with the 3 ball in online quick match (360 and ps3 it seems). This however is a simple fix with a little community group effort we can ask collectively for it to be tuned up slightly not so much to make every open shot go down but no so little that we can simply leave shooters open as an effective strategy on defense.

Or maybe that's a pipe dream.

Re: The Game is 1 dimensional now

I think I know part of the reason people cannot agree on the 3pt % being too low or just right. It seems relatively obvious to me, but 2k has no doubt upped the 3pt % at least a little bit since they first lowered it. When the first made the change, I couldn't get any 3pt shots above a B- under any circumstances. Now, I get a decent number of B's, and I've even seen 1 A-. Now granted, almost all of these B's or greater are shots off of passes from Rondo and his Floor General and Dimer skills, which give huge boosts. When I'm shooting with Jason Terry, I still can't get above a B- at all.

As it stands at this moment, I'm fine with it. Now, we really have no idea where exactly the sliders for Online Quick Match are set, and since they never tell us when they're changing it or by how much, this is all just speculation. But I've definitely noticed a difference today versus say 5-6 days ago.

What is to say I was not beating those players before? Now I just win by larger margins if they do not quit out of the match. I do use a zone and I do throw some double teams at the Offense. We all know no defense ever does that... Keep playing as Miami.

Denver just shot 0 for 22 at the 3 point line. So what EVERYBODY is complaining about in a "video game" actually HAPPENS in "REAL LIFE"
