Re: The "I Think this Player Deserves this Sig Skill" Thread
Lemme preface this by saying I'm a Bucks fan, and I didn't come to this conclusion overnight, but I think Larry Sanders should have Defensive Anchor.
It was clear when he was out due to injury that our defense was noticeably worse without him on the floor, and after reading an article posted on CBSSports.com, I've come to the conclusion that he should have it.
This is a big deal. Too often people, and by people I mean awards voters, simply turn to the raw numbers to evaluate things. Points without registering the number of shots needed. Rebounds without knowing how many of them are taken from teammates or off free throws. And blocks without factoring what the cost of chasing them does to the defense.
Sanders anchors the Bucks' defense, one of the best in the league. On top of all the gaudy block numbers, he also features the fourth best defensive rating (points allowed per 100 possessions when he's on the floor) of any player in the league, and ranks as the second-best player in the league in points allowed per possession via Synergy Sports with a minimum of 500 possessions.
Also, below is a picture (albeit fuzzy) from the Sloan Convention going on this weekend showing the percentage of points opponents score in the paint, with Larry limiting opponents to 30% in there.
Spoiler
I have not given him this Sig Skill in my Association, but next time I play he's getting it.Comment

I agree with Robrarian. When I've applied the Chasedown Artist onto Hayward in my offline association, it's benefited me greatly.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Whether its useless or very useful actually doesn't matter. He deserves it either way, even if it is something that isn't very useful...Comment

Bradley Beal = Corner specialist
Around the top 10 in the league in corner three pointers made and making 50.6% of them
And by the way if they give Sanders defensive anchor before Roy Hibbert I'm going to be really pissed offLast edited by Norris_Cole; 03-02-2013, 01:46 AM.Comment

Re: The "I Think this Player Deserves this Sig Skill" Thread
I hear you. I'm going to try to find the article, but I think Indiana is only team with 3 players (George, Hibbert, and West) in the Top 10 for defensive efficiency with Hibbert and George in the Top 5.
Hibbert should have defensive anchor while George should have Lockdown defender.
EDIT:
Here's a link from NBA.com where I added the filters to only show players who average over 20 MPG and have played over 50 games this season. However, I do have to scratch my head on Lamar Odom...any Clippers fans want to chime in?

Tim Duncan. Defensive anchor
Manu Ginobili. Give back acrobat or add finisher, maybe dimer
Tiago Splitter. Is there something for pick and roll? Brick Wall?
Kawhi Leonard. Corner specialist
I think that's it for the team"When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before." - Jacob RiisComment
