I've just given up all hope. My franchise is ruined. The TO bug made my very last game unexciting and just flat out predictable. Couple that with the false avertising about this "Next Movement" and what you got now is a travesty, a sham and a mockery. Its a travashamockery!!
See that is what I am talking about. This thread was created to discuss bugs, errors and glitches. Now if i went to other general areas and posted this then i would be wrong.

Also someone mentioned about these guys being passionate about what they do?? Give me a break. If that were true these things would have been fixed. Now if they do a recall and apologize and everyone gets a free new copy, then cool. BUT I DOUBT IT. There POV is probably, well dang it was only $20.

See while I am not a computer programmer, I am a financial analyst. Having said that, there was so much money allocated to the VC ESPN Basketball project this year (including development, QA, Advertising, and Misc expenses). There is also a target return on investment that VC's finance department wanted. If you compile that with a $20 price tag, you get..........NO RECALL, PATCH etc.

Now if VC was sooo passionate about their game they would forfeit some of those profit margins and do a recall/patch to correct this as a courtesy to fans of their product. But you wait on it..............

for anyone hoping for a patch to fix this...

i just want to clarify that the nfl2k5 clipping bug was addressed, but ONLY for on-line play. it is still present in offline play. i didn't find this bug to be that bad though since you can just turn clipping penalties off at the expense of losing some crib milestones.

the timeout bug is big though because there is essentially no way around it in franchise mode.
i am almost positive that this bug will remain until next year's game.

This is an issue that should have been addressed in QA.

If I was EA, I'd make an ad about it.

Re: CPU Timeout problem, reason inside

                      Here's a glimmer of hope:

In NFL 2K4, VC released a patch which changed how tackles were made. Prior to the patch, if you were on defense and pressed the dive button anywhere near the ball carrier, your player would automatically dive to him regardless of which way you were facing or running. Then a patch came out, and made it so you HAD to be facing the ball carrier or you'd just dive and hit the ground.

In 2K5, there was a bug where if you had a big run and it was called back for clipping, the player that ran the ball LOST YARDS instead of gaining 0 yards. So the first play of the game, your HB breaks off a 75 yard run but it's called back for clipping. When you look at your HB stats, he'd have NEGATIVE 75 yards.

Non VC related, in Rainbow Six 3 there was a glitch where you could look and shoot thru walls. Ubisoft patched the game to stop that from happening.

What I'm trying to say is that gameplay issues CAN be patched. VC just needs to be aware of the magnitude of the problem (and to anyone that understands basketball, this is a pretty big problem) and they need to know how many people are complaining about it.

When you post on in the ESPN forums, I'd post a link back to this thread or any thread on any other site so they get an idea of how many people are aware of the bug.

So, is the timeout thing so much of a problem that someone without XBL shouldn't even spend the 20 bucks on it? I sure am not going to buy the game and XBL to fix the game.

I'd have to say go ahead and spend your money. Here's the situations that warrant not spending the 20 bucks on it

                              1) You're an EA fanboy
                              2) You are SO MUCH of a sim nut that gameplay doesn't matter to you, you just NEED the computer to call timeouts in your franchise mode (note I say franchise mode because in regular quick games you can adjust the timeouts for computer)
                              3) You want to be in the "In-Crowd" of voices saying how the computer not calling TO's in franchise mode makes the game worthless

Here's the reason you want to buy the game:

                              1) TO glitch aside, it's the best DAMMN bball game ever made!

PS: If you have ESPN NFL 2K5 it comes with a free 2 month trial for xbox live. If you haven't used it yet use it now , or when the patch comes out.
