Well here is my current regular lineup. I'd have to sub-in 4 of my PG which I hate doing and now you can't do more than 3. So I'm not even sure I'll do that even for the 10 credits.

R u the same guy that got on my case like a week ago?They are a business. They are trying to make money. What don't you get about that? Do you do your job for free? Want less money? Pay cut?
The event is as "torturous" as you want it to be. You and me and everyone chose to play however much they did. You guys wanted the card (at least at some point, maybe it felt like an obligation later, but your initial sentiment was there) and you put in the 8 hours a day or what not (what happened to your 10 you were spouting before?) What exactly was the problem with the "player" experience? If it was easy, everyone would have it and you would complain anyway I bet.
Could the event be more "player friendly"? Sure. Strengthen the mid tier rewards so that there should be 0 reason to feel you are getting less for doing more (ie getting a rare or two rares and feeling it is worse than a team pack which it probably is overall). You could change the prize structure to "thresholds" so people know what they are, but you'd probably have to kick those thresholds way up. IE for this event it might have been 25000 pts for the Kobe/Bird. They are supposed to want players to play and grind and if there is no incentive to grind (ie mid tiers right now) that is even worse. Again, I'll say, anyone complaining about the grind that was a self inflicted decision.
Idk how u made the connection of me asking for a pay cut with this game clear bias towards people that spend money. Sure the main objective of every business is to make money but that shouldnt be the only objective. Name me 1 thing that they improved for the non paying players so far? Every update makes it harder for non paying players to suceed and includes more ways to gain an advantage by paying money.
The 8 hours was a very generous estimate because realistically it is closer to 10.
Now how muchomey did u put in this app? And whats ur quick game record?Comment

The one change I would suggest is to make reward levels for wins in quick games , like after 2500 wins you get a epic , then 5k , 7500, 10k and so on , that will keep people playing to get to next goal , think a lot of people will stop playing after a while if not , like myself , I rather be rewarded for putting in time then waiting on luck , 8600 wins now and only 2 epics drafted , 0 legendaries, yes I have every single rare pro but who cares. But if I knew I had a chance to get a epic pack at 10k wins I would probably be playing more, right now if no epic or legendary by win 10k I'll be done, and trash can please , I can only draft 34 players b4 I get to max

That's not me. I probably won't start a season until mid-week.
The event in and of itself wasn't awful. I do think there was an advantage to people who had jobs or events in life that let them play all the time. I can't do that myself because I don't think my school district would like it if I did. lol as far as earning/buying. Do people realize how whiney they sound? Who cares if I or anyone buys packs. It's open to everyone. It allows each person to enjoy the mind-numbing fun this should be when trying to relax.
I really wish they used a better picture of Kobe or plan on changing it lol, otherwise the event seems to be a success.
Two things Id suggest:
- Updating the reward for the people who only got a rare. The 4k-9k reward shouldn't be better than the 300-4k reward.
- The matchmaking was heavily against anyone using legendary pros. Majority of the tourney it was far more better to use epics or epic pros with 2 commons, instead of using multiple legendary pros or legendarys. I hope this gets changed in the future, we'd like to be able to use our best cards instead of having them be a disadvantage for us.
Overall seems like a great concept and was fulfilling to have to earn a great card instead of using money or random draft luck.
Future activity may not be as competitive since this was the first event and with a popular player, but it's better to keep it at 20 because the same players won't keep winning every week. Ones who didn't win the previous week will probably try harder and the ones who already won will probably take the week off. If the tier was expanded then the same people would continue to always win because it wouldn't be as exhausting to receive the reward. Regardless, congrats to everyone who won

Not to sound like a whiney bitch but that what I'm talking about in my previous comment. I can't do that and wouldn't do that for a digital card on a game. I would like to see some tweaks to the next one or a future one than balance the field just a bit. Because what's gonna happen is you're gonna end up with the same people with most of these rivals cards who will be impossible to beat in season modes.
I'll be curious to see if you're right or not. However, I think you're right in that you will see the same folks end up with all the cards.I dont see how u guys r expecting the next event to be anything different. Its going to be the same sh*t meaning 8 hours per day of playing MINIMUM. Plus u better be saving up atleast 300 to 400 hotstreaks just for the last day due to people getting desperate andbuying streaks.
Okay lets say 5 of the top 20 people dont participate in the next tourny. Guess what the 21-25 spots were only about 1,000 points behind. So that wont affect the grind much at all.
Overall, its going to be the same torture as this first one. Changes need to made. Changes that focus on improving the player experience. But quite frankly the only changes they will focus on is making even more money in a slick way. This has been a pattern throughout this apps lifespan.Comment

I put in 0 dollars. 8400-1100 or so. I play as much as I wanted, paid as much as I wanted. But having worked in development for a long time I have 0 problem with devs trying to make money, especially through stuff like in game micro transactions, especially when the game is completely free otherwise.R u the same guy that got on my case like a week ago?

Hell no! LOL I think I finished 211 or something like that. I played quick games like I normally would anyway. No way I was going to put in that much time in.

That said I'll add that I agree with you that they could do more to get player interest that isn't as grindy (more modes, maybe trading, quality of life stuff). But you speak as if making money is a sin or something and everything should be about the players. I personally think league of legends model for f2p is about the best around, ie you can get anywhere without money, and money gets you cool stuff or gets you stuff faster.R u the same guy that got on my case like a week ago?

C'mon don't be ridiculous. This update was ALL about the non-paying player. Spenders don't grind much, they could easily just drop money on packs and get epics and legendarys. This update made it so people who play a lot but don't spend much, have a good chance to get an amazing card.
You need to open your eyes man, they're not going to just hand you the best cards as charity. You either need a lot of time, or a lot of money. If you got a problem with how much time is needed to win these cards, then don't play. Hey I don't disagree but I've mentioned this before. The game itself needs to be fun and it's not. Largely the 'fun' comes from getting the really good cards. If the game had more modes, more strategy and so on I think people wouldn't feel as jaded.
Unfortunately playing the game is a means to an end which is just getting cards. No guarantee of that either. I've already deleted the app from my iPad because I just couldn't justify the time anymore. I will still try to get to 20000 games on my phone. If I hit that mark (only 1800 to go) and still don't draft a legendary then I'm afraid the app is coming off my phone as well. Hard to show love to a game that doesn't do the same.

Your right but how much is your time worth. To put things in perspective...
Other the the special Kobe card that you can't buy Epics/Legendary have a cost of $20 dollars. That's how much it cost to buy a pack. Now figure the time spent for those who earned a single Epic pack. Divide 20 dollars from the time spend playing and there you go. Congratulations you now know how it feels to earn a sweat shop wage.
