Summer league = perfect performance. Sound bug?

When I played a game in the summer league I noticed that player movement (especially on defense) and gameplay in general seemed to be much more responsive. Am I imagining things?

    Is it the stadium?
Or is it the absence of sound?
Or is it the player ratings?

    Did anybody else notice this?

I imagine it's the absence of the large crowd and smaller arena. Game has much less to render.

Can't be the absence of a large crowd as most people play with crowd detail on medium or low and still encounter lag

I haven't played summer league, but this sounds like when I play scrimmages in the Gatorade gym. I play with crowd off in normal games to begin with, yet scrimmages seriously feel like an entirely different game. There's just something about them, I can play on a ridiculously higher quality and everything feels much more responsive.

After playing many more games, I think the performance is tied to
          a) commentary. Sometimes performance improves dramatically after the commentary has died.
          b) AI: Performance drops during certain phases in the game. Tons of stuttering at the start of 2nd half when having a large lead. Might be momentum. Might be different AI routines running when being in the lead. Graphical stuttering happens at the start of 3rd quarter. When the AI run is over play can continue normally. Crowd is disabled. But maybe the crowd is still involved somehow. There are probably more than just a few bugs in the code.

I wish there was a way to disable commentary completely.
