Yeah, and Pasta Padre has written that there's no changes whatsoever in gameplay.

So...this had better not be the patch.

And, if it's not, what is it?

And how does a game update without the company knowing?

I understand the whole thing about "we give the patch to MS/Sony, after that it's out of our hands", but obviously something was released today on the ps3 called "patch 1.02". It should just be as simple as saying "hey guys, yes this patch was released today and we tried to address the following issues X, Y , Z.

EA released an "incomplete" NBA game this year.....so it might be possible that they released an "incomplete" patch to compliment that.

I was actually talking about Sony, not EA. Pasta mentioned that Sony/MS has released an empty patch by error, maybe this time an incomplete one?

But yeah I'm with you on this guys. Maybe EA is still wondering what the hell happened, since it seemed to catch them by surprise, but stephenson already mentioned that indeed the patch was released by Sony. Just wish he could've said more than that...

I think it's a location thing, some servers will have it, some not yet. I'm not sure though.

I wonder how some people are seeing a difference and others are not. I don't have the patch so I can't speak from what I've seen, just from what I've read. But I've read in previous post about larger on-screen score board, the block lag or something. It must be a placebo patch.

AMEN! How can EA be so damn 'clueless' about their own product? A patch is released for the PS3 and no one from EA can confirm if it's legit and the details regarding the patch.

so Steph can you please tell me why i put in the game over 2 hours ago and i never got prompted for the ps3 patch 1.02 i am still stck at 1.01

cuz i put the game in and got nitch nadda nothing so whats going on thanks

I haven't tried. After a couple of attempts to get the patch, I turned off my system to watch Georgia Tech RUN up and down the field against "The U". I love a good option attack when it comes together.

FYI. I confirmed that the patch for PS3 was live.

I deleted the 1.01 patch BEFORE downloading 1.02 and the PS3 did not try to download 1.01 again.

Does the 1.02 patch contain the fix from v1.01 as well?

Hey everyone,

The patch for the PS3 was prematurely pushed live from Sony. They quickly pulled it, but we're working on getting them to put it back up now that it's out there (stay tuned on that one). The XBOX 360 patch should follow shortly, and we appreciate your patience!

We wanted to give you some details on what’s included in the patch. We listened to the community feedback very closely, and although we couldn’t get everything we wanted to in the patch due to size limitations (like beluba said earlier), we do think we’ve addressed some key issues.

The reception of NCAA Basketball 09, from a gameplay perspective, has been really good. Part of the luxury of being on the same engine for our basketball franchises is that we can differentiate between the two, but through the patch process, we’re able to get some of the really good things that the NCAA Basketball 09 team did. We addressed a lot of the gameplay complaints that you guys had including tuning shooting percentages, both overall and in contact situations, so that you’ll have a more realistic shooting percentage outcome. We also made some quick strike ballhandling, analog passing (logic and receptions) and jostle improvements.


The number one thing we were able to address was the responsiveness with block animations.

We adjusted the skill level of OTP to All-Star, so with lowered shooting percentages and a higher skill level, you should have a much improved OTP experience. Speaking of OTP, you're now able to see the "Scouting" tab to look at position leaders (not just the GMs). We bumped up the club search window to 60 seconds so that you'll have a better opportunity to find a club to play against.

You're now also able to put headbands on NBA players, and the team color accessory bug has been fixed.

Teams with alternate home jerseys are now wearing their HOME shoes instead of their away.

There are other under the hood things included in the patch (like the autosave in FIBA mode now working) that we won’t go into, but we’re pretty confident that you’ll notice a difference in NBA LIVE 09.
