It would be based on the use of LT trigger as is becoming usual to perform the skills. What would change is that instead of making theactual movements street ball, often inoperative, , the player would make electrical fast movements in the direction we wanted with the LT+LS. The duration of the movements and how long steps while bouncing the ball - or not - are, will be determined by how much and how long you'll direct LS to a particular direction . When you release the trigger, the player will make a longer step to change the pace in a direction determinet by LS. You'll be able to immediately re-enter the electrical fast mode quickly re-pressing the LT. No canned movements in here I mean.
Examples of moves to make with this system can be seen in this video so cool about T-Mac, in 0:31 ( holding LT+ pressing LS ), 0:38 ( holding LT + direction LS to the right long -> holding LT + direction LS backwards/left short - > release LT + direction LS to the left/forward - chance of pace, long step- ), 0:58 ( forward LS short -> holding LT + direction LS to the left/forward short - > release LT + keep LS direction )...

As you can see, McGrady made many steps back to gain space once made the change of pace.
The step back may be done in two ways:
1) Bouncing the ball, keep the trigger pressed LT (electric mode) and directing the LS backwards/left/right long.
2) Without bouncing the ball, holding down the LT trigger ( electric mode ) and directing the RS stick back ( long duration ), releasing when you let go the RS ( in the video, from 1:12 to 1:17 )
As mentioned in the point 2 above, in the game we will also move in electric mode with the right stick. The options will be:
1) the different possible steps in all directions. These will be steps back, europen steps, normal layups, etc. Part of this system is implemented in the nba2k11. The difference will be that while driving to the basquet, if you tap the RS to one direction and then to another ( forward/diagonal foward left/ diagonal forward right ) while holding LT, you will perform the layup-european step. But if you hold RS + RT, you will perform a feint with the body - or call it a post move if you want- ( normal fake shots will be by holding RT + pressing RS ) in the direction given by RS.
So no more turbo with RT. All the speed will be controled by LS - we need a better footplanting! -.
2) when doing "post moves" like Jordan, Kobe, McGrady, etc. I think this is also one of the weakest aspects of the 2k series. Very limited and not very intuitive. Let me explain below.
Currently, the system of post moves is limited mainly to the low post and high post in a very static way. What I'd like is that these movements were more rapid and difficult to defend, which I believe is what happens in real life.
Therefore, there would also be electric mode in this section xD. With the RT hold, the player could perform the pivot move where we wanted, giving the intensity, length and duration of the movement that we wanted with the RS. That means we could make all the movements of the body that a player can perform only with RT + RS, and when we decide we want to throw, we will release the RT and then the RS to finish the throw animation correctly. The movements of two sequences in the post could be made by giving the stick twice in the same direction or other directions to be the case ( for example, in the video, from 1:56 to 2:01, while moving, hold RT + direction RS backwards short -> hold RT + direction RS fordward/left long -> release RT -> release RS properly). As the direction of movement would be true to RS, the result would be not so predetermined combos as usual.
So, holding down the RT+RS, would do the feints and post release moves in the post and the entire basketball court. As we had more time down the RS + RT, longer the feint will be, with the possibility of the ball to slip through our hands or the player off balance if it's longer enough!.
We can see from the video of Tmac, examples of electric dynamic graceful movements to which I refer throughout the basketball court at the time instants 0:27, 1:57, 2:11 to 2:20 and 2: 38
The direction of RS at the time of shooting would be important in this new system. Therefore, I would choose to have to press RS for a normal release or a normal shot fake, because directing the RS in one direction or another could make the shot feints, movements, and the jumps in the shots in those directions.
In addition, the electric mode, while serving as shot fake, you could use it as a fake pass in layups or in any other situation.
For all this could be done, I guess the game will need to be improved in footplanting and contact between objects on the basketball court (players' bodies, etc).
Sry for my bad english.
As you see, I've got plenty of time to waste xD ( not really
