one more thing I also bumped offenive rebounds up to 100. The computer has not out rebounded me on the offensive boards yet but the get around 8 a game I guess. Let me take that back
Golden State and the Bulls did one game...

Re: lack of rebounding is getting on my nerves

I moved the best offensive reboundering big men ratings into 90's (Brand, Wallace, Garnnet, O'neal, etc.... check last years stats for the whole list.) and then adjusted everone else according. I did the samething with the best rebounding SF placing them in the 60's(marion, pippen, lewis) and the samething with the shooting guards placing them in the 50's (pierce, mcgardy, kobe) pgs are in the 40's....That also helps...But remember you still have to get you own boards yourself.. This just makes the cpu controled players more aggesive.

the key to getting o-boards is switching to the player under the basket when you release the shot....just hit x(on ps2) when the shot is in the air, get in position to where u think the board will come down and jump for it...also you could try adjusting sliders....

For some reason, NBA LIVE has always had horrible rebounding AI...ie, guys just stand there. You see a tonne of times the ball just hits the floor etc.

I have the CPU offensive boards at 100...and it still happens.

It's easy to rectify this for yourself . Simply control the guy under the boards. I get a good number of O boards a game.

The big problem is that the CPU doesn't do this...no matter what you try...

I played Detroit and Ben Wallace didn't get a single O board.

Occasionally they will get them...but it's normally just because they got to a rebound first, ie to where it fell, as opposed to fighting through traffic to win the boards.

It's actually better if you just ignore it...and don't even go for offensive boards yourself.

Otherwise, you end up with 14 offensive boarss and the CPU has 1 or somethings...and that sort of upsets the scoring opportunities balance.

I am really surprised that the ten man mo cap didn't fix this...

The boarding is the exact same as other LIVE's, so maybe they didn't have time to incorporate it this year?

i would ilke tosee 05 incorporate the same type animations and overall gameplay they have now for 04 for the rebounding part of the game . the offense should have at least 2-3 guys aggressively going for rebound. top offensive rebounders could have unique animations added.they should mo-cap some rebounding battles and rewrite code so that rebounding for off is realistic. also a good idea to have some rebounding fouls and slider similar to other foul sliders.

The hitting of the button is a great way to get the offensive boards, people need to stop admiring there jumpshots and control the man underneath right after you take the shot--I get a bout 9-12 offensive boards a game using this method. You've actually been able to do that in all the lives.
