I just installed the game... all details maxed.. res..1280 by 1024.. That's as high as my flat panel will go

The game runs smooth as silk! Thank god, after a big letdown on the Xbox, I am happy with Live on the PC...

Guys....I dunno, something's wrong here. Im running this game on my hi end system and it just doesnt feel smooth as butter like you guys all say. NHL 2004 is a much smoother engine...even Madden 2004 is much smoother on the PC, NBA Live 2004 either has a poorly optimized translation from the console or you guys think the game is running smooth as butter...I dont know for sure. All I can say from my observations the console XBOX version feels a lot tighter and more FLUID. Am I imagining this??

Well, don't know what to say about the framerate except for what I described above. You can't go wrong with either platform, but just remember the flexibility of the PC and if you're the type of individual who likes this sort of control. Good luck on your decision.

Choppy , I guess may be the WORNG word to use here....because that kind of indicates that your PC isnt fast enough to handle it and its some sort of hardware problem. Perhaps a better description is the game has certain keyframe or transistion issues from certain animation movements to the next. While for the most part all the animations look great, some of them dont flow or look like they skipped a few frames of transistion which give the illusion that the game doesnt flow fluidly all the time. Also this is the BEST LIVE that EA has ever made but it still has a strong tie to its arcadey feel and play even with all it's simulation added for 2004.

Im not sure how I feel yet about it completely. I do enjoy it but I also tend to go back to Inside Drive 2003 when I am looking for a more relaxing realistically paced game of NBA action. I think Live needs one more year of ironing out .....or better yet, weeding out it's strong arcadey video game roots. Because there is really a very playable engine in there.
