    The end of a Giant?

So I after reading an article about the new NBA Live game that appeared here on operation sports today I really can't help but wonder if this is then end of what has been a giant killer of sorts for EA Sports. It really was not that long ago, but I can remember when it did not get much better when it came to basketball video games then NBA Live.

Some how it seems though that EA has gotten more involved in wanting to make Madden a more enjoyable game over the past year. Who can fault them though? I certainly can't because Madden is EA Sport signature game and needed some big overhauls, which I can tell you I thought were very much worth it after I spent an hour waiting in line to get my hands on it last monday night!

It just seems as though NBA Live has become lost in the shuffle and taken a back seat while they put most of thier time and effort into Madden, NCAA College Football, and NHL (which I am vastly looking forward to the release of next tuesday). I mean when you look at EA Sports website you can find out anything you want about the afforementioned games, but you don't see much about NBA Live and the release date is a little more then a month away now.

We have seen EA Sports turn games in the past that have been big money makers that they apparently just gave up on MVP baseball and Fight Night are examples of those. I know they lost thier mlb license but did they try to fight hard enough to keep it, or was it thier ovlive branch so to say to 2k sports after they purchased the exclusive rights to the NFL? Whatever the case there have been some great games that in the end were casualties to the bigger giants of which Live once was one. It's a shame it will looks as though it will suffer the same fate.
