With a tweak/addition to his game, what player could become a star in this league?

I dont think there's one thing that Howard could really do better that would make him a star. He does just about everything well. His shot is the biggest question (along with his foul troubles) but I think he just needs time to develop in this league. He's gonna get better and better.Originally posted by HardwoodHeisman1Since his rookie year its been obvious to me that Josh Howard has a solid combination of tools that most star players have in their possesion. He hustles, rebounds and can pass the ball very well. He also has the skill of creatin' for himself and others. I think if he continues to improve his mid-range game and become a more consistent scorer, he could possibly be the guy that Dallas may look to, to get them to that next level. He doesn't really have to focus on the three-point shot because obviously, that isn't one of Dallas' weaknesses. He shows a lot of emotion and although it got him in trouble at times this season, it looks like he has that passion and desire to win. If he can become a more dependable guy on the offensive end in crunch time and continue to improve defensively, he could be one of the future all-stars at the SF position.
Marquis Daniels fits this thread perfectly. If he could hit a shot (And I'm not even saying a 10 footer, it gets as bad as he misses 2-3 layups a game) then he could be a start. His range is really about 15 feet now. If he can ever (which is still a unknown) get that shot down, he's gonna put up Larry Hughes type numbers.
Dwight Howard There's really nothing I'd say he needs to work on. Botton line is in time, he WILL be the best big man in the league. He's reminds me so much of Amare offensively (he can hit the 15 ft jumper and a great finsiher) yet defensively, in his rookie year, he's already light years ahead of Amare (nad quite a few big man). He's gonna be a DPoY candidate along with being a #1 otpion for his team. I'd strongly consider trading Dirk for him. He's one of the few players I'd do that. I think the guy will be IT in 2 years tops.
Side Note: If Francis was not on that team, Howard would have taken the rookie of the year award hands down. If you look at Howard's FG attempts per point scored compared to Amare Stoudemire, its something like 1.56 to 1.48 in favor of Amare. All Dwight needs is touches and he'd have been a 15+ ppg scocer I'm convinced.
As far as Dirk Nowitzki goes, I dont think he nessacerily overrated but it depends on who you talk to. Is he a top 5 player? I'd say no, but he's definately top 10 and well deserving of 3rd place among MVP vote getters. His defense is average right now. He's a very good help side defender and one of the better rebounders in the NBA but what he struggles at is his man2man defense. He needs to get strongly. I'm hoping Avery sends him to the weightroom this summer.
But he's far from being a liability or a bad defensive player.Comment

Luke Ridnour, he reminds me of Nash so much, the way he moves on the court and great passing ability. He needs of course the 3 point shot so that players will respect his offensive game and then be able to use his PG skills much better.
Same goes with Kirk Heinrich. I think its just time and the maturity of his team and he'll be there next year if he kept up what he did in the 2nd half of the season.Comment

My vote goes to the the Headband twins down in Dallas. Marquise Daniels and Josh Howard. They are so similiar and in my opinion experience, health and the developement of a mid range jumper is what keeps them from taking their games to the next level.
It's very unsual to have two young guy's on the same team with similiar talents yet Dallas does and also sinec these two guy's are 6'6 and 6'7 repectively they are versatile components. I think Avery Johnson is going to get both of these guy's to play at high level next year in his scheme which is attack the basket and play fundementally sound defense tow things that both players are capable of doing very well.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD
