why does everybody use the default up and down camera on NBA2k3

i have been playing xbox nba2k3 online and notice that everybody like to play with the vertical camera angle instead of a side camera. That has to be the worst camera angle for bball. No depth perception. Plus the offense is at the far end of the screen. The players are so small and and the angle so poor that i cant tell whats going on.

I sure hope next year, sega allows the users to have independant camera angles.
