    Al,

Great topic... although you'll never come to a consensus!

Lenny Wilkins, I believe, is one of the only - if not the only - hall of fame player and coach in the history of the game. Just because some of those guys on that list are old, doesn't mean they aren't great!

Nah, just a long-time Bulls fan who was there before the championships.

Sure, Scottie becoming the player he did hepled get the Bulls over the hump, but without MJ the Bulls don't make it out of the second round of the playoffs back then.

Like I said, they should wait till the players they want to include retire, so they can see who really deserves it. When they included Shaq, he didn't even win anything yet.

The biggest injustice from that list was the exclusion of Detroit Pistons legendary shooting gaurd Joe Dumars, it was a travisty he didn't make it. You cannot put a guy like T-Mac on that list, he has only been good for 2 years, and hasn't made it past the first round, you have to wait longer.

Joe D is definitely better than Bill Walton was in the NBA

The three biggest omissions in my opinion were Joe Dumars, Dominique Wilkins and Dennis Rodman.

um, you say how garnett can't win, etc, etc. what about pippen? Has he won anythign when jordan wasn't here? In 94 he choked big time in the playoffs, and the year after jordan retired he got balled up by a young kobe bryant during the 99 playoffs. He was hurt most of 98 finals and didnt do much, 2000 finals he watched his team blow a 15 point lead and all he did was jack up one ugly three. in 2002 playoffs he CAUSED HIS OWN TEAM TO LOSE game 3. (he left horry open for a shot, then missed one free throw, then made a bad inbound pass that was intercepted).

How can you it's an insult to say Duncan is better then pippen. Duncan has been putting up numbers (better numbers then pip) for multiple years now.. so its not like its a fluke. Duncan has led his team to ONE TITLE, and has won MVP and playoff MVP. What the hell has pip won? don't give me none of this jordan stuff, cause he had his chance in 94 and he still choked in the playoffs. in 99 he choked again.

as far as i'm concern every opportunity pip had to play on his own, he has STUNKED IT UP. Yeah sure during the 94 season he had ok stats but came playoff time Toni Kukoc was the man, not him.

I mean, you can say you dont agree that duncan is better then pip, but how can you say it's an "insult". Duncan has already done alot and accomplished alot in the NBA, and this is like his... sixth or seventh season.. so its not like it can be a fluke. He has already had more individual sucess then pip ever did. And team success... pip never led his team to no title, duncan did.

so kg may not be on the list, but if the NBA make another top 50 list, duncan would for sure have a spot, and hell DUNCAN'S SPOT WOULD BE HIGHER THEN PIPPEN'S SPOT.

you gotta remember, buddy, pippen was hyped as "the second best player" in the NBA for so many years when jordan played with him. I think now we all realized that was a bunch of crap. Pippen was NEVER the secnod best player in the NBA.

                      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

The Lockout season will forever have an * next to it's name not only for it being a shortened season but it was also post Jordan. Same goes for Houston's two championships. Therefore Duncan's championship means nothing.

Im also sick of everyone saying Pippen won 6 titles because of MJ. Wrong....they were a one two punch, the best 1,2 the game has ever seen. Pippen during the 90's was indeed the second best players in the league. No question.

His place is safe in the top 50. Duncan certainly poses no threat.

Duncan has 1 title, probably wouldnt even have it had Jordan no retired.

                      Pippen has 6 titles.

                      Nuff said.

So what you're saying is that Duncan isn't as good as Pippen? Is this because he wasn't fortunate enough to be playing with MJ? I guarantee you that if Duncan came into the L when Pippen did, and if he went to the Bulls instead of Pip his rookie year, then the Bulls would have started winning championships right away, as opposed to when Pippen matured as a player.

Duncan came out of the gates fast. This is his 6th year in the L. He came in averaging 20-10. His career numbers are 22.9ppg, 12.3rbg, 3.2apg, 2.47bpg. He is so solid fundamentally.

Pippen took a while to get to where he's at, or was. He's got good all-around numbers, but he doesn't compare to Duncan's skills.

You say that Pippen and MJ was the greatest duo, I have no problems with that (except for maybe Shaq and Kobe now), but if it were TD and MJ, then that would have been the very greatest duo ever. No one would be able to touch them. Both demand double teams. It would have been a great inside-out game.
