Amare... he actually has range and somewhat of a post game (although sloppy IMO). I'd rather have Dwight, though, he still scores without much of an offensive game at all.

offensive skill set....I will go with Amare (right now). I would rather have Howard on the team though.

I say Howard, he just seems to get it, I know he doesn't have Amares jumper and might not ever have it. But Amare tries to do too much and always takes 5-7 dumb, just plain terrible shots a game. His B-Ball I.Q. is low IMO.

Amare is better offensively but I chose Dwight because he's more of a power guy. I think it's pretty close though.

Amare easily. It's just Dwight was gifted with incredible strength, leaping ability, and timing for rebounds. Hell, it seems like more than half his points are off of O rebounds or alley-oops

What are u talking about? He shoots 14 times per game and is shooting 58% at that! Howard shoots 12 times per game and is shooting 60%

Actually it would depend on what my team needed If I already had a legitimate Center I would get Stoudamire as my PF because that's his true position and If I had a pf same scenario.

                Offense----Amare
                Defense---Howard

                    Re: Who's better offensively???

                    Amare Stoudamire is better OFFENSIVELY.

Amare can create with the ball in his hands and does not need to be set up for buckets as much as Dwight does. Dwight gets most of his points from his teammates setting him up and getting offensive boards. Amare has shown that he is capable of scoring facing up and with his back to the basket.

Dwight is a beast. No doubt. But he still has a very rough offensive game.

IMO, Amare has a better offensive game, but Dwight is the better offensive player. Amare can shoot better, has more range, can take some players off the dribble. However, he gets a lot of points off easy pick and rolls and when he does use his moves, he is against single coverage. Dwight on the other hand can get your whole damn team in foul trouble, and actually has a pretty good back to the basket game along with a good lefty hook. There is no doubt in my mind if you put Amare on the Magic in place of Dwight, he'd be shooting below 50%.

So basically, Amares got better pure skills, but Dwight makes more things happen, draws more attention, has a bigger impact IMO.

                        Re: Who's better offensively???

                        I take Dwight...

Howard is a better post player than Amare... He's got about 20 more lbs on Amare. If I'm looking at a center I want someone who is a beast on the blocks. The ability of my center to be able to hit a 17 footer is not as important as having a dominant post game. I think Howard has a better post game because he is ferocious on the blocks. He is always looking for the high percentage dunk, and you have to factor in Amare's health into this because it is a part of his offensive game. With his bad knee he can't do all the things Howard can. Plus Howard is getting one more offensive board than Amare a game. Amare is shooting better from the freethrow line, but Howard is getting like 7-8 minutes more a game than Amare. I would rather have a center who can play 38-40 minutes, and have a better low-post game. Now I do know that the Suns have a fast paced offense, and that both helps and hurts Amare's game.

If it were only possible, I would take Amare before the knee injury. However, given that it is not possible, I would have to go with Howard. He's probably my favourite player in the league this year. I think it's because he reminds me of myself...
