I'm not too sure who I play like.

I'm a shooting guard/point guard. I got a good three point game as guys know I could shoot. But I also cut to the basket some and make layups and floaters. I post up some as well. My handles are decent at best when being guarded well.

      Thats a toughy.

Several years ago when I use to play much more, I was a beat them with my J kind of guy who could also attack the rim. Now I am more of a pure driver who likes to pull up. I used to be deadly from 3 now...not so much, lol.

As for who I play like. Well I try to rip off Kobe's moves, lol.
I have Iverson like crossovers. Seriously, my handles are NBA caliber. But I am also a 5'10" white boy with no hops.

But yeah, I probably model my game after Kobe. Trying to work my J back into shape though. It kinda sucks now.

Re: Which NBA player do you play most like?

Maybe you guys could actually give me an answer to who I play like, because I really have no idea

I'm 6'1" and weigh around 210 (don't look like it, I have no muscle mass and don't look fat at all, unfortunately a good portion of it is in the butt and hips). Let's say, for the sake of understanding the context of the talent and kinds of players I play against, that relatively speaking, if I was an NBA player, I would be around 6'7-8" (don't play a ton of tall or incredibly athletic people). My acceleration is decent but my top speed is awful, I can (or could) run a 4.9 40-yard dash and have enough ups to dunk, but only when messing around, never in a game.

I guess you would call me a 4. I don't have very good handles. I like getting the ball in the high or mid post, my range is about 17-18 ft. (but my jumpshot is streaky, sometimes i can't miss, sometimes it's like i forget how my shooting motion goes). I try modeling my high post game off of Kobe's, or at least elements of his (no turn-around fadeaway jumpers). I like getting the ball with my back to the basket, using my pivot feet well, and being quick and deceptive with where I'm going with it. Occasionally I'll face up though, and am usually comfortable with a Tim Duncan style stare and pull up jumper (sometimes off glass, sometimes not). I am fine getting it on the low block, although I don't prefer it, but when I do I use a lot of up and unders, step-throughs, Rajon Rondo style ball fakes, and have gotten really good at the Pau Gasol baseline spin ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUHDR21dH1E , this play, exactly). I have above average passing ability out of the post, I like to make a move and see if anyone collapses and kick it out, but almost always after I make a move.

My greatest strength as a player is by far, not even close, my ability to rebound on the offensive end. I have a knack for being able to make defenders forget about me when the ball goes up, so they all turn their backs and I can weave in wherever to get it. If I'm already engaged, I will fight you hard for position. My defensive rebounding is fine too, but the offensive glass is where people really notice me. For my size, I'm also surprisingly good at shot blocking. My senior year of high school (playing the 5, lol, against guys around my height or taller) I averaged four blocks per game, and had eight in two separate games. I can't block anything though, only specific kinds of plays, where the block comes from playing smart rather than being athletic. Guys trying to do reverse lay-ups, thinking they have me beat, those sorts of things.

I play like Shawn Marion. Extremely athletic, good inside scorer, some handles, excellent defender, and very versartile. I'm 6'5" 216 lbs. I shoot alot like Rashard Lewis, just more jump and a slower release. I don't like shooting from beyond the arc but I am capable of doing so.

Also, just wanted to throw this out there...I have a measured 43-inch vertical!

Before back problems cause me quit playing I would have compared me to a shorter white version of Reggie Miller. way back in the day when i was in school as was compared to Steve Alford with a good vertical and I could rebound with the bigs.

I'm a swingman that can shift over to PG if need be. Streaky shot, good defender and rebounder for my size, I guess I'm a hybrid of Thabo Sefolosha and Hedo Turkoglu with Rondo's rebounding ability. Yeah I said Rondo, haha. I can also post up pretty well, and finish inside with layups excellently, even in traffic (especially on fast breaks). So that leaves me as Thabo's defensive skill and shot, Hedo's playmaker ability and shot, Rondo's rebounding and shot, Kobe's post game and Dwyane Wade/LeBron's layup ability. Not bad.

Why have so many people said that this thread is so hilarious? I mean, I guess I understand that you could find it funny that people could think they play like an NBA player, but as someone who's played more than enough basketball, I can say that people DO pattern their game after people they've watched.

IDK who I play like. I am cash money from mid range, I have enough handles to drive to the rim and not turn it over at least lol. Don't expect me to iso and start sizing up my defender though. I have a great post & I'm actually pretty elegant for my size, a creative finisher around the basket. But defense is my strong suit. I block shots at a very high rate.

So basically, I have Luol Deng-type range, CB4-like rebounding (I can rebound when I try), Scola-like post moves, Ben Wallace-like defensive abilities and Amare Stoudemire-like athleticism (minus the strength)

maybe people are thinking in terms of absolute values and not contextually. i know when i posted my little scouting report, i said i had certain skills or what-have-you that resemble certain players. obviously, i don't have the size, skills or athleticism to truly replicate those guys, but contextually, it's a more appropriate description.

so, when i read guys saying they shoot like ray allen from three, i just take it to mean that if there were 10 guys on the court, he's saying he's probably the best long-range shooter, or amongst all of us, his game is the most ray-allen-esque. obviously if he could stroke the rock like that, he wouldn't be posting on here.
