Watching that 2000 USA team was awesome. I know it wasn't cool for everyone, but as a Vince fan, it was like a Christmas gift that kept on giving. I was living to see what he'd come up with next at that point. I'd tune in to see something I hadn't seen before. Vince Carter was already nasty in NBA games, but Olympic play (particularly warm-up games against USA Select and the others in that clip that were shown on TNT) seemed to welcome a little relaxation and experimentation from VC that we wouldn't normally be privy to.

Clearly, the Weis dunk is gross, but I'm almost just as big a fan of his windmill against the select team, that nasty alley-oop against China where he jumped off one foot and hammered it with two hands, and his reverse on the baseline against France where I honestly thought he was seriously in danger of hitting his head on the rim.

Those dunks (and many of the others) stick out to me because nothing beats watching those types of plays unfold while watching the game live. I love that split second moment of "there's no way he's going to. . .ohmygod he did." I didn't get a chance to see the Weis dunk live. I had to rely on heresay and forum updates (possibly Insidehoops, maybe Dime or Slam) that dubbed it the best dunk of all-time and titled it "The Lipton". In the computer labs at school I'd secretly search for the footage, which was nearly impossible in the early 2000's due to Olympic TV rights and so-so video abilities on computers. It was just all around a great time for fans of the dunk.

I don't know why... But I actually like them for some reason. I never liked their old jersey.

I hated them, just way too much going on. Less is more.

The same goes with alot of the jerseys of the 90s. Which is probably why you see alot of teams going back to the retro look, much more functional and professional looking.

YES! God those were awful.

Can't believe there's actually a Bryant Reeves highlight reel...but they make an appearance in here... painful to look at.
