Jordan can get people in the seats, and have been offered many jobs, even by your favorite coach Phil Jackson, who seems to think he's not a cancer. Take that with the Bulls offering, the Bobcats, the Sixers, New Jersey, and almost the Bucks, and that doesn't seem like a loser to me.

Phil Jackson never offered Jordan a job, he said he considered it.
Phil just blows steam, so I don't believe anything he says, but anyways, he offered him a job as a player. He can't do any harm there. He can't sell more tickets, they already sell out, but he also can't bring his Jordanesque crappy attitude either. Who is he going to come down on, Shaq, he'd be out the door in minutes, and Karl wouldn't take it.Comment

Im really getting pissed off having to read and hear again and again about the Wizards players and organisation doing everything they can to erase and put down the best thing to ever happen to them. I'm getting pissed off that these guys actually have a straight face when they speak of the Jordan Experience. Jordan WAS the Wizards for the last two years. Playing for free, (he donated his entire salary to the Sept. 11th fund), he earned them millions in ticket sales and team merchandise. All of sudden we started seeing the Wizards in primetime television and he did bring together a playoff caliber team, dont act like you weren't excited when the Wiz picked up Stackhouse and Hughes. Jordan also brought in Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley to teach the young guns how to play and give motivation (you know Charles Oakley know how to motivate, my example: Vince Carter). As a player, Jordan averaged over 20ppg at 40 yrs old. That is a feat in itself especially at the SG position. He was the only player to not miss a single game, and yet we all forget he was less then a year removed from a season ending knee injury. We forget that in the summer of 2001 he broke his ribs while getting ready to come back and he still managed to will himself into shape by training camp.
I remember watching Mike at the end of his run in the 2001-2002 season and he would do everything in his power to not succumb to his injuries, wearing a different kind of brace on his knee every game, icing it between plays, using exercise bikes to stay warm, walking when he could, saving his energy, and then, make a game winning shot. This is the Jordan I remember, that is heart, that is courage, that is the will of a champion.
People talk about how even though all that is true about Mike that, his attitude towards the players was what ruined everything. To those people I ask, do you think he acted any differently when he played with the Bulls? Heck, most of you should know by now that he went as far as punching Steve Kerr in the face. Maybe it was a little too much, but do you think Kerr was thinking about that punch when Jordan passed him the ball for the game winning shot in 97 Finals? Look at all the former Bulls player's stats, Pippen, Grant, Kerr, Buechler, Longley, Randy Brown, Ron Harper, Jason Caffey, Kukoc, Bison Dele (R.I.P.), Dennis Rodman, even Chris Dudley, all of those players stats fell right after they either left the Bulls or Jordan retired. Jordan made the players around him better and you don't do that by kissing their asses, you do that by challenging them day-in and day-out.
Richard Hamilton and Courtney Alexander, took in the Jordan Experience for the whole three years they had with Jordan. 2 of those years of course Jordan was GM, he was present at team practices, but look at how much those players improved from that. They are light years away from what they would be if not for that experience, to add to that, even Hubert Davis was looking pretty good.
Personally, I believe that Jordan the GM was great for the organisation. When he came in, the team was in dissarray financially. They had Mitch Richmond and especially Juwan Howard with HUGE seemingly untradeable contracts. They tied up the whole team, forcing the franchise to sign up scrub players just so they could have at least 12 players, not because they wanted them. Jordan not only managed to get rid of those contracts but also get rid of that no name coach, sign Doug Collins, he signed a few key player like Tyronne Lue. He brought the best out of those scrub players, , we all know that had Jordan not been injured in 2001-2002 the Wiz would have been in the playoffs.
The Wizards organisation is one filled with a bunch of inconsiderate, hopeless, *******.The perfect image of NBA players today. The reason for all this is that they don't want to work for wins and instead want a roster full of franchise type players like the Mavericks or Kings (or any top team in the west really). NBA teams are forced to BUY wins and championships because the players today don't have any work ethic and won't work to make up the difference when their team is under-talented. Jordan brought his work ethic and worked harder to raise the level of his team, he only wanted his players to work hard also, is that too much to ask? Apparently, YES!
