    Re: Possible Breakout Teams

The T Wolves have the ability to be a great team if they can put it together, they're absolutely loaded with raw physical talent. Randolph, Williams, Beasley, Johnson and even Rubio all hold the possibility of becoming stars one day along with Love who's already shown what he can do at the top level. They need to work on their defense, Williams will have to learn how to defend effectively on the perimeter against NBA wings and Beasley needs to work harder defending the post as does Love.

They have one thing you can't teach and that's size. Their lineup could go like this,

    PG - Rubio (6 4)
    SG - Johnson (6 7)
    SF - Williams (6 9)
    PF - Beasley (6 10)
    C - Love (6 10)

You can also rotate Darko, a legit 7' Center, Randolph (6 11 and LONG), Slide Beasley to the 3 etc. As physically talented as anyone in the league, hope they can put it together because they could be fun to watch if they figure out how to play efficiently in the half court.

But, this season? Watch out for the Trail Blazers, perennial contenders, I think they make a push this year in the playoffs.
Red Sox, Giants, Knicks, Liverpool FC, Bruins, UConn

Wesley Johnson is the only one who wouldn't have to look in the dictionary to know what the definition of defense is. They still have a while to go, but for right now they are the denver nuggets when they still had iverson. 100+ scores but more losses than wins.

I agree with you about the Blazers though, Jamal Crawford was a great add, and they show they can survive without Roy. Batum and Matthews are going to have breakout years.

Also have to go with the 76ers. It's obvious Iggy's peaked but I think you'll see breakout years from Jrue, Thad, and Hawes. Still need to see about Turner and Meeks......

I agree and I noted that. However at least in Wesley Johnson they have someone who, if he keeps developing and maturing as a player, will be able to guard the opposing teams best perimeter player with his length and athleticism. But yes, the rest of the team needs to continue to develop as defenders because you're right if they don't it'll be 110-102 all year.

Feel free to rub this in my face if it things go differently, but helllllll no.

The Wizards have a bunch of boneheaded, immature, "I'm gonna get mine" players surrounding The Great Wall of Washington. If they do anything this year, it'll be because Wall puts them on his shoulders and carries them, and I'm not sure he's capable of that just yet.

The Pistons, they just have a lack of top talent. They're mostly a team of overpaid bench players. Monroe and Knight could be something, but they still have a ways to go IMO (how many chances is Dumars going to get?).

As for my pick, I was going to say either the T-Wolves or Pacers, but since those two teams have been mentioned a few times already, I'll say the Nuggets, assuming they count. Plenty of depth and young legs, and they play an up-tempo style, all of which is probably going to be very beneficial in a shortened season like this. They don't have a guy, but they have more than enough quality guys.

Sorry I haven't really been following them

Why are they such a threat this year?
