Probably the same as the Nets marketing the Brooklyn instead of the Nets

Honestly they were screwed over in the past (the fans), so why not give them back their name? Should've never left in the first place

I think it's mainly for nostalgic purposes but also Hornets is a much better name than Bobcats and the Bobcats name is associated with their old owner who was apparently an *******, right?

meaning its better for marketing purposes to the fans than BobCats just like the term Brooklyn has been made out the same rather than the Nets

The Charlotte Hornets name came from the Revolutionary War. British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was a "hornets nest of rebellion".

                I like New Orleans Brass.

Mainly because I'm a big fan of the phrase "Brass Tax". Late in the game NO is down 1. Now it's time to get down to "brass tax". Half the crowd can dress as trumpet's and the other half as accountants. That half could wave calculator paper rolls during opponent FT's

Charlotte should get Hornets name back.

New Orleans should have changed their name to something relating to music(New Orleans Brass would be ok name, too bad they couldn't have Jazz).

                    New Orleans Bourbon lol.

Damn. I feel like an idiot now.

I guess New Orleans River Rats will have to do then.

For some reason I like Pelicans. It's different.....I'm cool with. Hopefully the uniforms aren't an atrocity.

New Orleans Soldiers and the team uses this as it's logo:

And they use the Black/Gold colors too. Can't lose with that combo.

Didn't Master P play for the Hornets? Maybe they can bring him back and those ugly sneakers. Haha

                                Should have been Brass.

It fits New Orleans better. And I think it's a nice nod to the old Jazz.
