I think it's mainly for nostalgic purposes but also Hornets is a much better name than Bobcats and the Bobcats name is associated with their old owner who was apparently an *******, right?Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. The Charlotte Hornets name came from the Revolutionary War. British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was a "hornets nest of rebellion".

I like New Orleans Brass.

And they use the Black/Gold colors too. Can't lose with that combo.
