Re: Hornets Changing their name to...
This.
I'm so tried of people pointing to other names to justify this god awful name. IDGAF what that nonsense. Just because other frachises and fan bases deemed worthy of naming their team have nothing to do with our name. They aren't us.
And IMO would instanty be the worse name in the only two sports I follow.Last edited by da ThRONe; 12-08-2012, 10:19 PM.You looking at the Chair MAN!

So, I take it you're not changing your avatar."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Hornets Changing their name to...
They need to hit up Utah and see if they can get Jazz back. Salt Lake has very little to do with Jazz and the logo looks like it belongs on a can of Coors Light.
Pelicans sounds more like a minor league or a high school team.Last edited by iLLosophy; 12-07-2012, 10:22 PM.Comment

Re: Hornets Changing their name to...
Hell, lets reset them all.
I'm sure I'm missing quite a few but you get the gist...
- New Orleans Jazz (now Utah Jazz)
- Charlotte Hornets (soon to be again, but currently New Orleans Hornets)
- San Diego Clippers (now Los Angeles Clippers)
- Philadelphia Warriors (now Golden State Warriors)
- Ft. Wayne Pistons (now Detroit Pistons)
- Minneapolis Lakers (now Los Angeles Lakers)
- Rochester Royals (now Sacramento Kings)
- Tri-City Blackhawks (now Atlanta Hawks)
- Syracuse Nationals (now Philadelphia 76ers)
I'm sure people here know more if it's regarding "their" team, I wasn't trying to be specific but just give examples. If I'm wrong on some feel free to correct them.Comment

1) NOH came out and said they want a name that fits either the city or state. None of those other teams are in the position to provide their name to another team that is relevant to its name.
2) The Bulls logo is a picture of a Bull. The bucks logo is a picture of a Buck. The Wizards Logo is a Wizard.
The Jazz logo is of Snowcaps. Not Piano Keys, brass, or something to do with music. Snowcaps.
I'm just saying this is a golden opportunity, if they are interested, the can give NOH the name Jazz back, and find a name that fits "Snowcaps" a little bit better...lolComment

Player 2: I got traded and demoted to D-League?
Player 1: Nah, the New Orleans Pelicans
Player 2: Yeah, a D-League team right? I know there is Hornets in New Orleans.
Player 1: That's their new name
Player 2:
