Wow, there might be some restricted free agents praying for the Bobcats to set them free!! Only protect 8 guys, this might be interesting.

Re: Starbury returns to NYC?!?
I also thought that teams were forced to expose at least 2 veterans regardless of how many they protected. I could be wrong but I've heard that stipulation from a few places.Comment

I dunno if it was in this thread or in the other threads, but I'll just reply here. There were questions asked about the salary implications and how much under the cap the Suns were gonna be this coming summer. Well, here is your answer.

Question: What are the salary cap implications of this deal?
Colangelo: I’ll stay away from specific names and the issue of free agency, but the net effect of this deal brings us to about $35 or so million (in guaranteed salary for ’04-05). We estimate that the cap will be about $45 million next year. So, when you look at the math, we’ve got about $10 million of flexibility. Then you talk about the (costs) that are anticipated in the form of our draft pick, a lottery pick and also the Knick’ pick, which right now is also a lottery pick, and that could add another four, four and a half or five million dollars, depending on how high those picks turn out to be. Obviously, the higher they are the better for our case in terms of ultimately adding better talent… So with regard to the flexibility, you can anticipate that right now, after those draft picks are added, we’ll be anywhere in the five to seven million dollar range in terms of free agent flexibility as we speak today.

I hope that helps to whoever was wondering. I think it was Matrix31.

Thanks Shakobe.....man, we only get 5 to 7 million after the draft? That kinda sucks. We can add a couple million to that too and add Q-Rich if the Clips dont resign him.
Anyways, I heard we might also trade Googs, the 1st round pick from NY, and the 1st round pick from Cleveland we're still owed to Utah for Keon Clark, who I think his contract comes up this year. Another rumor was Googs, Voskuhl, and Jacobsen to the Jazz for Keon Clark and DeShawn Stevenson (Washington Union baby! Fresno!). While getting DeShawn would be nice (I think if given the chance he can shine in the NBA), his contract would expire and Voskuhl and Jacobsen play too hard to trade away. Voskuhl and Jacobsen are both good guys and good players. I dont think we should trade them.Comment
