I've just saw too many guys with Burkes play style turn out to be nobody's.. Hopefully he can prove me wrong: I really think this draft is one of the worst classes of the past few years. -

Re: 2013 NBA Draft Discussion
I like Burke but it just seems like he moves in slow motion. I feel like he could easily be a backup guard but past that I am unsure.Doesn't the NBA run a bunch of Pick and Roll's or did I miss something.
Also Burke has an incredible step back. I don't have the #'s on him on iso's but you couldn't be more wrong IMO.
I dunno how he'll do as a pro. I think he'll be a solid NBA PG and I'm quite confident in saying that.Comment

Re: 2013 NBA Draft Discussion
I feel the same about Burke. He's undersized and not as athletic or shifty as you'd hope for someone his size. I can see him being a solid role player but no more than that.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Burke looks more and more like a backup. I can't think of who he compares to...maybe Isaiah Thomas from Sacramento? The guy I really like going forward is Glenn Robinson III, he is strong and athletic. I think his upside is very good."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I completely understand that. That's the book on him and he's going to have to improve in those areas. But I think he has a shot.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Trey Burke versus Nate Wolters is the sort of guard match up that jumps off the page. Two of the top four most efficient players in the country, head-to-head in a game where defense is something of a footnote on the statistical resume of both teams. The raw numbers are impressive by themselves. Burke averages […]
This is a breakdown of Burke vs. Wolters, but it also points out that Burke basically uses the pick and roll and nothing else and in isolation situations, Burke is horribly ineffective going to his right, especially when he pulls up off the dribble.
Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not saying Burke won't be a decent NBA player, but I personally think he'll end up being a bottom-tier starter or a solid PG off the bench.Last edited by Yeah...THAT Guy; 04-08-2013, 09:35 AM.NFL: Bills

Dude is right handed. Makes no sense that he's less effieicent going to his dominate hand.http://www.umhoops.com/2013/03/20/by...-nate-wolters/

Re: 2013 NBA Draft Discussion
They break it down more and basically argue that it's because for whatever reason, he gets to the rim a lot more going left than he does going right, but his pull-up going right is also far less effective than going left (but I think that's actually the case for a lot of people; I think it might just be easier to follow through when you're drifting to your left if you're a righty than it is drifting to the right, but that's just my own speculation).NFL: Bills

Re: 2013 NBA Draft Discussion
Not THAT strange, it's more about footwork than strong vs weak hand.
I'm a lefty but I always drove right because I'd naturally catch and jab with my left foot, thus making it easier to attack their left foot (esp with ppl forcing you left) - which meant I'd have to use my stupid right hand.
I'm honestly surprised more players don't have that tendency.
It was comical when everyone tried to force me left even though I hardly ever go that way. Stupid stereotypes."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2013 NBA Draft Discussion
Been a while since I have posted. But I gotta agree with you here. I've watched few clips here and there on some of these guys and I'm not impressed either lol. I feel like this Trey Burke kid is just overhyped. I mean just don't know, lol. I could be wrong.Comment

I agree though. None of the players stand out much in my opinion. I see a lot solid talent though.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
