That's basically what I was trying to show. That is a lot of points to give up.

But I think for Houston to have any chance of winning. They have to win one of the first 2 games at warriors. That could be said about every series. But it's more about building confidence. Like the Clippers series.

Again, a pretty liberal use of the term "fits". Just one man's opinion tho.

You can say fits, problems or that the Houston was just straight up bad. It doesn't really matter to me how you word it. Looking at the stats make it seem even worse now considering how reliant the Mavs were on the three. Holding that team to 31% on one of their biggest strengths should lead to better results than it did.
Mavs ended with an offensive rating of 106.1, which would rank as a top 10 offense. Looking at it the other way, a team with a defensive rating that Houston had in that series would rank as the 5th worst in the regular season this year. And the numbers get even worse looking at the Clippers series.
Again it didn't really matter in this series because Dallas' defense was worse but Houston's defense was given some problems.
I agree with your other post though. I thought DMo was fantastic this year and he often went uncredited.

3s arent the reason those teams have been winning though.

How so? The teams that have averaged the most 3 pt atts are also the final four. That can't be a coincidence.

That's why I ask where are these teams when it comes to defense.

Don't know, don't care. I just want to enjoy poking a little fun at The Zen Master.

Wouldn't the second round skew those stats a little bit? Of course they're going to shoot more threes than teams that lost in the first round.

GS, Atlanta and Houston were among the top defenses in the regular season. Cleveland was average but has looked better in the playoffs.
Phil made this remark when each of these teams were down 2-1. I guess he was trying to prove a point but it kind of backfired lol

The stats listed are per game, not total.

You can look at the regular season as well. In terms of percentage of attempted three pointers Houston is 1st, Cleveland is 2nd, Hawks are 4th and GS is 7th. Also, the Clippers, who somehow didn't make it, were ranked 3rd.
