Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Jimmy Butler Cleveland-bound picked up even more momentum on Tuesday.
According to multiple sources out of Cleveland, not only have Cavaliers players – including LeBron James and Kyrie Irving – been reaching out to Butler directly and through back channels over the last five days to gauge his interest, but liked what they heard back from the Bulls three-time All-Star.
One of the sources indicated that Butler would even push his front office to get the deal done, which is a huge change of direction for Butler, who has told both general manager Gar Forman and VP of basketball operations John Paxson numerous times over the last year that he didn’t want to be traded.
Then again, that was before the Eastern Conference powerhouse Cavaliers became a possible destination.Comment

2017 Offseason Thread
I wouldn't call that a lateral move in the slightest. That would be adding an athletic player that can score just as much as Love can and be light years more athletic and someone significantly better on the defensive end that you can use to help take the load off LeBron some on that end of the court.
That's moot with Jimmy though because I don't believe GarPax are stupid enough to trade Jimmy in the division, to a dude that has been our bug-a-boo for his entire career now. Jimmy getting thrown into these Cav rumors sound like the laziest of lazy summer NBA rumors stemming from back in February when asked what NBA player he'd most want to play with or have come play with him in Chicago if he HAD to pick one. He said if he could pick one, he'd want to play with his favorite player that isn't himself, Kyrie Irving. Naturally that turned into 'Jimmy Butler wants to play with Kyrie Irving' headlines and now we're magically here during the offseason talking about the Bulls and Cavs are in discussions about getting Butler to Cleveland.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
What is Boston's plan? They're not gonna beat the Cavs, and if they somehow did, they sure as hell aren't beating Golden State. IT is 28, he's not your guy in 5 years when LeBron is old. Unless they trade for Butler/PG and sign Hayward (do they even have the cap for that?) they really can't beat Cleveland. No true superstar.
And they've just handed Philly the point guard they need. If Philly is healthy, they'll dominate the East after LeBron.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Surely, teams like the Celtics, Suns, or Timberwolves can beat any Cav offer, right? Right?
I mean, Kevin Love is still a decent player, but wouldn't the Bulls rather rebuild with picks and young players who don't look like old women "mall walking" when they're running down the court? My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
One thing at a time.
I agree Butler/George would make the Cavs better.
The ISO ball is different subject, that has to do with coaching and buying in from LeBron. A new coach would be the best way to address this.
It is to be seen what they do to augment the bench.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I think they'd be a little better off. First and foremost the defense of those two(at least when PG is locked in) should help some. It also gives them another creator on offense to spell LeBron or Kyrie. Love just seems to have turned into a spot up shooter and when he isn't hitting he's pretty useless outside of his rebounding. I doubt it's enough to put them over the edge though. Maybe they take it to 6 games instead of 4 or 5 lol.

Against 28 other teams, he's a perfect matchup for anyone. Just so happens the other team has a player like Draymond, who's a matchup nightmare for any team and that's the only team where Love will have issue with(at least defensively).#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Nothing new since it was mentioned back in January but it's official now
Sources: Pau Gasol will decline his $16.2M option for 2017-18, but intends to work with Spurs on a longer term deal to remain with team.

I think if Boston traded for either George or Butler and they could still have room to sign Hayward or Griffin.
My money is on Danny taking Jackson (maybe Tatum) 3rd, not making any trades and missing out on both Hayward or Griffin in free agency. I'm taking the expect the worst, but hope for the best approach to this offseason. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Phil wouldn't dare and Dolan can't be this dumb to even allow him to do that.
Right?
