Their arms move at the same pace. There is no visible fatigue. A guy would throw 90+ body blows and his stature was like a spring chicken. There's just not a visible sign of fatigue, especially in WC mode, where created boxers are being used. Where I see the patch working most is in Heavyweight Ranked matches (non-created boxers).

Is it fair that button punchers have better accuracy?

Is it fair that TPCers can throw body blows easier?

Don't get me wrong, I love FN4. But I hate that this creates an uneven playing field.
You have to realize that, by it's nature, it's ALWAYS going to be unbalanced.

That's like bitching about the advantages and disadvantages of a 2-stick zero turn lawnmower vs. a traditional steering wheel.

The sticks are so radically different from the buttons that balancing them is just not possible.

It does seem punch accuracy has lessened quite a bit, the jab seems a tad faster and weaving isn't as fool proof. Several times since the patch I've landed jabs and uppercuts on a guy in mid weave.

Something else I noticed is counters seem to do more damage and I have actually had flash knockdowns. Besides certain cheesers becoming better cheesers defense matters more.

Oh, one huge thing! The block meter does not keep going down if the keep bombarding your guard in the same area! One guy picked Ali when I picked Wlady K (my opponent was a ****** fighting) and kept tossing jabs into my guard. It never went past half and I just stood there with my guard down. The guy was a cheeser who was clueless as to how to fight now that he couldn't body spam.

Another good thing is three or four dirty blows and it's a dq, period. Tha faulty logic is gone on that one. I give the patch 8/10.

Shaun, have you tried WC mode, your thoughts?

Now that is better news. However I'm still on the fence. Of course I'm waiting on my refurb to ship before I can get hands on and judge for myself. Hopefully I'll be happy and won't want to trade it in.

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Title Update/Patch and DLC

In WC heavyweights you can't toss 100 punches a round and you have to box. At the same time fighters wear down quicker in ranked matches...something to do with the stat leveling I think. My worst (cheesiest) fight was Mid. Weight WC mode against I high level cheeser who tossed six to seven punches, rested and did it again. On top of that his body hooks rattled my controller and I still don't know why. Pre-patch only haymakers did that.

It's still an improvement my block meter doesn't wear down like it used to and head butts and low blows are punished. Definitely more sim. I had lost ten straight before the patch, half DQ's on my part because I didn't want to deal with the BS and I wanted to quit without getting a DNF or giving them a KO. I was 4-1 or 5-2 yesterday I think.

Punch accuracy has lessened due to the slider.

After the first DLC, the Accuracy slider was maxed.

When I went in yesterday, it's set to 8 (2 clicks from max).

I can only assume, online just uses the sliders at their defaults underneath it all.

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Title Update/Patch and DLC

I stand corrected. The patch is working in WC mode. I wasn't paying much attention to the blocking meter, but when I did I was able to survive longer. I am now holding off my punches, trying to move and counter. In doing so, I won all but one fight out of 4 this afternoon. It's in the 5th round where I start seeing things shift. If you keep your stamina in tact, you will dominate from that point on.

My stamina isn't draining like before, so I can now give my health more points. It's still not boxing though. However, it is when you fight a spammer. Personally, I think they shouldn't last 3 rounds, but it's ok. Just don't ever expect to have a fight with these people. Of course, I guess we never did to begin with.

Dave, you should meet me in WC if you get on. You'd clobber me, but it would be fun.

I doubt it.lol The oddness in all of this is that I have a strong desire to beat these spammers. My WC record is off balance because of them.

I can play now if you want. WC or quick. We can do middles in the league.

One thing hasn't changed...A-Holes who headbutt when you are stunned are irritating.

I switched to buttons and still don't know how to clinch or avoid unintentional headbutts. I'm also switching to any argument against buttons. I think it just makes for a better game. Slicing, cutting head hooks are neutralizing body spammers. My problem is I'm throwing way more punches than I did with the sticks. I was Pavlik against Monzon and threw over 1,090 punches to my opponents 620, yet he was totally drained by the end of the fight because of right cross body punches and possibly 82 thrown haymakers.

Body spamming still exists although it's a bit more restricted with the stamina tweak. It's better but I think they could've tweaked it a bit more.

What's with the hiding of the records? No offense if I don't want to fight you, guy with an 0-7 record and 45% disconnect rate.
