      nice summary.

Regarding the smokin' joe clip, I would doubt it, but hope they change the left hook to have thumb towards the ceiling. That's the proper way to throw it instead of palm to the ground. I know SOME boxers have done it that way with their pinky knuckle leading the way but it's not the powerful way. I noticed Gatti doing it too, I think they've defaulted to palm-down.

Little things like that would go a long way. Also Joe's follow through could go a bit further to sell that knockout impact, as he just sort of stops after the impact.

I'm pumped for the game, but to me there is still a disconnect between punch thrown and impact landed/effect. some of it is momentum, some timing and reaction, and some little details like the fist positioned in the wrong way.

They have indicated PC release early summer. I'm wondering in what continent that is. Where I live it is 90 degrees Fahrenheit - that's early summer.

I'm wondering how long after the PC release until we get a ps5 release. How big is their developer staff? Do they only have enough people to work on one platform at a time?

There’s something that doesn’t right with punches and the way the shoulder moves. It sometimes looks the arm is disconnected from the shoulder. There needs to be more movement in the shoulder. Also, as was noted earlier, hooks aren’t usually thrown with palm facing down. That works for straight punches but not hooks. I kept thinking something was off but couldn’t figure it out until I read the above post. Power punches just aren’t thrown the way we see in the game.

This is beginning to feel like the boxing version of CyberPunk 2077. The massive, long, too good to be true hype. The lack of gameplay footage, the lack of a demo. I just don't have a good feeling about it.

I never even thought about massive hype associated with this game. Maybe I’m underestimating the current popularity of one of my favorite sports. For this game to explode it would have to be one of the greatest sports games of all time.

The game will have an Early Access. So the full game will be released after months of people playing the game, providing feedback, and multiple patches.

yeah, but I don't think that's necessarily a good thing. You can't rely on a community to give you feedback, you should just know your sh*t imo. My post about the wrong thumb position is a major turn-off because it lowered my confidence level about who's making the game and their passion for boxing. My assessment at this stage is that the footwork is great but the punching and hit reactions are not. For a game where punching is the #1 action that's kind of a concern.
I love that they are doing the game just in general and have such a huge roster of stars for sure - I just wonder if the rapid expansion hurt and you have certain developers making decisions that they shouldn't. Back in the fight night days I thought it was a better direction when EA chicago was in charge, then Brizzo in Vancouver took it over and made it worse (aside from graphics). All it takes is someone high up enough to make poor decisions to ruin a game. "the counter window" as an example.

Joe blow vs joe blow has to be competitive and fun otherwise nothing can save it.

I'm not saying all is lost, it still looks extremely promising and so many thing are catered towards a boxing fan, but my excitement is tamped down with fundamentals in the ring looking off. I hope they can tweak a bunch of stuff without it ruining other stuff lol

I agree the game needs work. But the game looks better and better every time they show updates. (I've been following this game since the first trailer)

I understand things could be better, but I'd rather a game fail trying to be overly ambitious, than fail being lazy. I think the next gameplay trailer will answer a lot of concerns, and I think this type of game will only get better with time and growing resources.

So far I've seen nothing that suggests the management will take this game in the wrong direction of its mission, a True Sim Boxing game.

                      Back after a long hiatus.

Just wanted to say: I'm very disappointed that Tyson is not on the roster. I hope they add him in.

I don't blame him for holding out for more money assuming he is. I wonder what these guys are getting for being in the game? Apologies if this has already been answered.

Todd said it was different for different fighters. Some got money up front. Some get money of game sales. Some will get money from their DLC.

During an interview he used Bud as an example and said someone like him would have a deal where he'd get $0.25 for every copy sold.

So if the game sells one million copies, he gets $250k.

He explained some fighters could get a higher percentage as DLC, but it will depend how many people buy it. So somebody could get $2(a lot more than $0.25) per DLC purchase. But if only 100,000 people buy your DLC, you get $200k.

He said some opted to be tied to game sells and some tied to DLC. I think a lot of the families of retired/dead fighters are getting money up front.

There are how many boxers in this game? I’m an old school boxing fan and seeing guys like Holmes & Camacho really gets me pumped. However, are they really going to make every fighter feel unique? That’s a huge deal. It’s great if a boxer looks right but if there’s no signature styles and proper AI, the game is going feel pretty hollow.

7 Months later and my take is still the same. I think this game either never sees a release, or that it will be a disaster if it does.
