Re: You best trick or tip since playing
I just did this twice in a row into a successful submission... I thought of you, Dave, as I watched his stamina drain and mine go up.It's not really a reversal as far as nomenclatures in the game are concerned. Just the arm trap from dominant mount postured up that if your opponent is successful it puts you in submissive full guard. If you deny the arm trap there is big stamina cost, if you don't even attempt to deny it their isn't really a stamina penalty.

Re: You best trick or tip since playing
Not my best tip, but I think it's a decent one.
If my opponent gets me in a sub attempt that has a green gate I will frequently not even attempt to defend and only focus on when and where green gate flashes. I hit it first almost every time that way. I sometimes test out my opponents sub offense first. If in first gate their offense looks bad I'll just try to escape instead of waiting for green gate.Comment

If you hit the green gate first while defending the sub, it cancels the sub change ?

Re: You best trick or tip since playing
Yup, it stops the sub from being chained into another and also pushes the defender's gates out so far that it's pretty much a free escape every time.Comment

Re: You best trick or tip since playing
The more you know ! Another thing I didn't know after playing since the release... does it work the same way for regular blue gates too ?

Re: You best trick or tip since playing
It only pushes the gates out when the attacker still tries to go for the green gate after the defender has hit it. If the defender hits it, the gate simply disappear, so when the attacker tries to go for it afterwards it'll count as a wrong direction and push the gates out.
But, the attacker can also simply ignore the green gate and go for the blue ones only. This means the sub is 1 stage longer, but it also is impossible for the defender to do anything about it.Comment

Learning the wrestling reversals off of takedowns is a trick that helps against people who spam single leg takedownsComment

Thanks for the input, very interesting !

Re: You best trick or tip since playing
for round 1 i just use Ukemi and let the opponent beat me then they think they have an easy fight, but in round 2 i come back with extra power sicne i throw almost no strikes. and for some reason i never get knocked out no matter how many hits i take in round 1 as long as i never throw strikesComment
