I freaking love this fight. Really hope this is true. Crap, I love both fights. Wooldley/Hendricks ain't nothing to sleep on either.

I'll take both of those fights. Let's hope it's true.

Aldo's "broken" rib is all healed now and he is ready to fight.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Jose Aldo says he's healthy and ready to unify the UFC featherweight championship with interim titleholder Conor McGregor as soon as possible. Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and McGregor (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) were scheduled to fight for the 145-pound belt at…

                Re: OS MMA Random Thread

Last night I was watching Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel and the first segment was an interview with former adult entertainer Christy Mack. They talked to her about her former boyfriend War Machine and how he almost killed her last year. And there were some interesting points made out about domestic violence in MMA. The national average is 320 per 100,000. The NFL is 210 per 100,000. And in MMA the average is 750 per 100,000. And Dana White seems to be a little hypocritical on this. I know last year he made some remarks on Fox Sports 1 that the problem is handled swiftly and they if you commit domestic violence you won't fight in the UFC. But they said in this Real Sports piece that a week later they signed on a fighter who had 3 convictions of Domestic Violence on his rap sheet. If you guys have HBO, I recommend giving this episode a watch. It is episode 220 and the MMA violence part lasts about 26 minutes.

                  Re: OS MMA Random Thread

Yeah it was a hit piece on MMA. I think there are a lot of issues in the sport that add to it. Have to be macho, don't get paid much unless you are big, lots of training after having a job, etc. Then add in the type of people the fighters are, you seem to have lots of fighters who aren't well adjusted and that also brings in women who aren't stable. Fighters are around each other all day and then need to turn it off when at home.

Look at Leben, he claims she was the one beating him and says family members know the truth.

If you look at other sports, those players have more money to make things go away. You also don't have players pulled off the street to fight on short notice, etc. So players have their backgrounds checked before even getting close to the NFL.

Dana has handled it quickly with domestic violence when the fighter was already in the UFC. He has suspended fighters quickly with any accusations, but once it was resolved, he has let them back in. Rumble got suspended for something that happened in the past and was already legally resolved.

As for the #s, I'm not sure how they pulled them. They say MMA, so does that include all the regional orgs or only the UFC? I'm sure the regional orgs take any fighter they can get since they may pay $500 per fight.

Those numbers seem like they pulled them out of their ***, but who knows. It was an interesting watch. Watching Mayhem Miller on there was pretty crazy too. Dude needs serious help.

I'm legit worried about Mayhem. Hope he can get the help he needs and turn his life around.

Palhares needs to be banned. Not only did he grab the fence 2 times, sticking fingers in the eyes the whole fight while on the ground, and holding another sub way too long, the guys is dirty. I would strip him of the title and tell him bye.

Mazzagatti needs to be banned also. He never took a point and Shields actually tells him he won't do anything about it. I guess Mazzagatti thought there was a language barrier so he waited until the end of the round to give him a 3/4th warning.

As someone that's currently dealing with bruised ribs, I can see why Aldo pulled out of the fight. He would've been so limited and one shot to the ribs would've ended the fight. Just moving around the octagon would've brought him pain.

Yeah I know he pulled out because he couldn't cut weight, but the whole situation saying it was broken and now less than 6 weeks later it is fine and he is back training, that is the problem. He needs to fix his training and just tell the truth. I doubt he gets much backlash if he just says guys I can't cut weight, I'm not going to be able to fight. Its the whole let's wait and see, its broken but in less than a week I'll know if I can train (that is crazy), instead of just pulling out right away.

Depending on Ali Abdelaziz's tape study, Rousimar Palhares could either lose his belt or possibly even be booked for an immediate high-profile rematch. In other words, the WSOF welterweight champion's future rests heavily on what the company matchmaker sees when he goes…

NSAC took Palhares win bonus. He may also be stripped of his title and/or cut.

Shields said he wants to fight him again and if he sees him in the street, he is going after him where there are no rules .... Not sure you want to fight a person who already breaks rules in the street.

Yeah, I'd want no part of Palhares in a street fight. Dude is legit crazy. Glad his win bonus is being taken away and he really shouldn't be allowed to fight at this point. He's shown a pattern of holding submissions far past when an opponent taps and the eye pokes are just dirty. No place for any of that.

Question: With the pain you are going through right now, If I offered you around 2 million dollars AND pretty much guaranteed that you will get a rematch if you lose, would you take the fight?
