I'm just throwing it out there... to gauge interest. 12-15 users would be ideal, but we could accommodate up to 18 if demand is there.
Here's how it works:
Seasons in this game would normally begin and end with the calendar year (sorry this didn't come to fruition sooner - but I've just been waiting to see how MMA is followed here on Operation Sports). The league's scoring is based on points earned during events held under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner. Fighters earn points for their teams every time they fight. The team with the most points after the final event of the season will be declared the winner (will work on a bad *** prize pack throughout the year). The amount of points scored can be determined by these factors: win/loss/draw, as well if a win is a stoppage or decision; if the fight is the main event of said card; if the fight is a title fight. The scoring system is completely detailed further down the page.
In addition to earning points, teams will carry personal win-loss records. Each time one user's team fighter matches up with another user's team fighter during an event... the teams will earn a win or a loss in their overall record depending on the outcome. No wins or losses will be added to a team's record if A) two fighters from the same roster fight each other B) any head to head matchup ends in a draw or no contest. In a cool twist, win-loss records will have a direct effect on scores. Each win will add five points to an overall score, and each loss will deduct one point from an overall score. The points from wins & losses will be tallied and added to the team scores at the end of the season. In the event of a tie in points at the end of the season, the team with the overall better record will serve as the tiebreaker & determine final position in the rankings.
Teams may drop a fighter in favor of adding any fighter not currently owned. Teams are allowed TEN add/drops of fighters per user-per season, but must wait until TWO events are scored between each add/drop. Add/drops must be declared in the official thread, otherwise considered invalid. Unfortunately, trading will NOT be allowed (was cause for WAY too much arguing & bickering when I've run this previously). Just use your adds/drops wisely! No add/drops can be used once the event details are added to the main topic (which I will post the morning of the weigh-ins).

If there's big interest, that is awesome. If not, understandable. UFC 157 would have be the first scored event of the season (no matter where we are on the draft - if you have said fighter on the card... score counts). Drafting will stop DURING the event, but pick up right after it's over (just so someone on the card can't be drafting during & cheese those points). I know, that sucks because there's a good card this weekend (I'm sorry). I will expect people to be ready to pick once they're up. There will be TEN rounds in the draft. The draft order will be determined randomly using Random Number Generator, located at http://www.psychicscience.org/random.aspx.
