May Week 2
WWF Raw Is War LIVE from New Orleans, Louisiana
Trish Stratus vs Gail Kim
Angelina Love sits at ringside (referred to as "the champ" by The King, in error). Good wrestling from both. Gail wins after a facebuster that drove Trish's face into the bottom of Gail's boot.
Acolytes vs New Age Outlaws
The Outlaws ambushed the Acolytes as they were making their entrance. They put a solid beating on the Acolytes before the match finally goes into the ring. With frequent tags and double team moves from both sides, the match spilled outside quite frequently. In the end, Bradshaw landed a big powerslam on Road Dogg for the pinfall.
Hardy Boyz vs Rock & D-Lo Brown
The Hardy Boyz entered first, but quickly left the ring to meet the members of the Nation of Domination on the ramp before the bell. The early advantage helped them throughout the match, especially with D-Lo unaccustomed to tagging with the Nation leader The Rock. Jeff Hardy tagged in, leaped off his brother's back and hit Rock with a leg clothesline in the corner, then a reverse Twist of Fate and a Swanton to get the pinfall.
Val Venis vs Triple H (Intercontinental #1 Contender's match)
These two have battled back and forth over the last few weeks, trying to prove who was the worthiest to face the British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Championship. This match should be the final determination as the winner is the official #1 Contender! The ring chemistry between these two is amazing, and since they've been battling back and forth for weeks they've learned the other man's moves very well. In a brutal match that saw Val kick out of a Pedigree and both men donning the crimson mask, Triple H mounted a come back after rolling out the way of a Money Shot, hitting a spinebuster and second Pedigree for the win. Afterward, The British Bulldog appeared on stage and applauded the two competitors.
Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker (WWF #1 Contender’s match)
Another battle of two foes who have been vying to become the next contender places HBK Shawn Michaels against The Phenom, the Undertaker! Tremendous battle as both men refused to quit. Shawn attempted a dive over the ropes to the floor, but Undertaker caught him mid air and dropped him on his head with a Tombstone Piledriver! Later, in the ring, Michaels hit a big elbow drop from the top rope, and after he jumped back to his feet The Dead Man sat straight up! A chokeslam followed, which HBK kicked out of. Finally, a Sweet Chin Music put the Phenom down for the count! As Shawn was celebrating, Bret Hart's music hit! The ShowStopper was looking toward the entrance, but the Hitman attacked him from behind with the title belt to the back of the head. As he walked away, he told HBK that's the closest he's ever going to get to taking away the WWF Championship!
WCW Superstars LIVE from Baltimore, Maryland
Buff Bagwell vs Rob Van Dam
Buff could not keep up with RVD's speed and cunning, eventually falling victim to a Five Star Frog Splash.
Harlem Heat vs The Outsiders (non-title)
The Tag Team Champions, Harlem Heat, enter first. As The Outsiders were making their entrance, they were attacked from behind by Beer Money! Roode and Storm put a quick beating on them before rolling them in to the ring. This preemptive attack didn't take much out of The Outsiders, though, as they put up a great fight. After Booker T hit a Missile Dropkick, spinebuster, Spin-A-Rooney, and Axe Kick, Nash distracted the ref to keep his partner from getting pinned. Stevie Ray was quickly tagged in, and as Booker had Nash occupied on the outside, his brother got the WCW Champion into an inside cradle pin for the win!
Randy Savage was seen backstage throwing a fit about how he wasn't tagged in during his tag team loss last week, as well as how he wasn't even teamed up with one of his N.W.O. brothers, so GM JJ Dillon made a semi-rematch, with a little partner swap involved.
Ric Flair & Macho Man vs Samoa Joe & Goldberg
Ric Flair starts the match against Samoa Joe. Joe the more powerful, throws Flair around like a rag doll. When The Nature Boy goes for the tag, Savage jumps off the apron and walks away! Flair eventually gets the upper hand, and when he's got Joe bloody and trapped in the Figure Four, Joe was within tagging distance of Goldberg but refused to reach out for the tag! Instead, he grabbed the bottom rope to break the count. Shortly after, Joe got a Muscle Buster and locked in an STF to make Flair tap out! Goldberg, irate that he wasn't ever tagged in, speared Joe and left.
Perry Saturn vs Curt Hennig
Curt Hennig attacked Saturn from behind as he was making his entrance, slamming him face first into the ring post. With Saturn dazed, Hennig went to work dissecting him. He focused his attack on the arm of Saturn, stomping on it repeatedly and using submission holds to weaken it. Hennig won with his Fisherman's Suplex into a pin, and as he was celebrating his victory, Saturn was getting wheeled out on a stretcher. Hennig saw this and ran up the ramp and continued to attack Saturn's arm until security pulled him off!
Before the main event rematch from last week could start, Jericho grabbed a mic. "Sting, last week was a fluke. My Lion Tamer will beat your Scorpion Deathlock any day. I've got more holds than your dentures, and tonight I'm going to introduce you to a few of them."
Chris Jericho vs Sting
As the match started, Jericho went for a swinging neckbreaker, but Sting was able to turn it around and hit a Scorpion Death Drop! Jericho quickly rolled out of the ring to regroup, yelling at the fans at ringside. While out there, he laid a steel chair down on the floor. Sting rolled out of the ring to go after Jericho, but Y2J kicked him in the gut and hit a belly to back suplex, dropping Sting head first on the chair! After they get back in the ring, Jericho works on the lower back of Sting with holds and blows, even whipping Sting into the turnbuckles. Sting was able to turn things around by reversing an Irish whip and landing a Stinger Splash. Jericho once again retreated outside before Sting could capitalize. After some fighting on the outside, they get back in and Jericho hits a Lionsault and locks in the Lion Tamer, but Sting digs down deep and is able to claw his way to the ropes. As Sting gets back to his feet, Jericho dropkicks his knee, then lands a series of three powerbombs, turning the last one into yet another Lion Tamer. This time, Sting has nowhere to go as Jericho plants himself down on Sting's lower back. Sting taps out, giving Jericho the win! After celebrating for a minute, Jericho grabs Sting's legs and locks in the Scorpion Deathlock. He eventually lets go and stands over Sting as the show ends.
WWE Smackdown! LIVE from Houston, Texas
To kick off the show, Smackdown's GM, Vickie Guerrero, decides that the opening match will be determined by chance. She has a large metal sphere, the one formerly used in the WWE draft, actually, filled with lottery balls with wrestler's faces on them. She wants a tag team match, and decides the participants randomly. Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Heath Slater, and Epico.
Santino & Sin Cara vs Heath Slater & Epico
Santino & Sin Cara dominated the match, which didn't last long due to the lack of chemistry between Epico and Slater. Sin Cara hit a springboard dropkick on Slater, who stumbled backward into a Cobra from Santino for the pinfall.
AJ Lee vs Brie Bella
Quick match, as Brie had some ring rust to shake off. AJ unleashed a flurry of kicks and headscissor moves to pick up the pinfall.
Jinder Mahal vs Great Khali
Khali wants revenge for the last few weeks, as he's been the man The Corre has attacked. He gets his chance by facing their newest member, Jinder Mahal. Justin Gabriel comes to sit ringside to watch, as he too has a bone to pick with his former group, The Corre. Jinder used his speed to counter most of Khali's moves, as he had no hope of out powering the Punjabi giant. He wore him down with reversals, until finally a Camel Clutch was able to make him tap. As he celebrated, The Corre came out to the stage, Barrett had a mic. "You see, THAT is why The Corre picked up Jinder Mahal. Or, should I say, Jinder the Giant killer!" The group congratulated Mahal on his massive upset victory.
Antonio Cesaro vs Jack Swagger
Cesaro is looking for payback after Swagger picked up a cheap win last week. Cesaro took the fight right to Swagger, hitting a boot to the face as Swagger entered the ring. He got quite a few counters in every time Swagger tried to mount an offensive, and ended up hitting the Neutralizer for the win. Afterward, Ryback stepped on to the stage wearing his Intercontinental Championship and applauded the former champion.
Brock Lesnar vs John Cena vs Daniel Bryan, NO DQ (Non Title)
After these three tore the place apart, Cena took three powerbombs from Lesnar, Brock hit Daniel Bryan with an F5, dropping his face onto a sledgehammer and busting him open. Lesnar got the win by pinfall. After the match, Cena grabbed his title belt and the mic and went to the ramp. "Daniel, Brock.. I've got to give it to you both. That was one HELL of a match! Brock, congrats on the win. I think you showed why you were WWE Champion. I must say, however, that the champ isn't in the ring... THE CHAMP IS HERE!!!"
