WWE 2K23 Wishlist

Hey all, this is my first wrestling game since Smackdown Here Comes The Pain, and let me tell you. It’s amazing! This game has so much potential.

I wanted to throw out a wishlist, I encourage others to do so:

1) Downloadable/Upload Rosters
- if I want to play with the 1996 WCW roster, i can download it. or if i create a dream roster of all time legends. Allow for 15 custom arenas included with the roster.

2) Pushes
- this is big in wrestling. we always see a guy get a push and become popular. The Rock, Austin, John Cena anybody?

3) Signing/Releasing of wrestlers
- A wrestler gets fired from the company or brought in. Ability to bring in new created players in an existing Season mode. 3 yrs down the line, i dont expect the roster to be the same— hell some people aren’t even in WWE right now in the roster.

4) Optional draft: let us be old school where they used to wrestle both shows. this would be good if using a classic roster

5) Custom Promos: whether theyre in the ring or backstage to add to the story thats going on leading to a PPV. write out captions. Immersion fellas!

6) Add custom music. Xbox WWE Raw 2 was able to do this. PS5, cmon bro.

7) Game Speed option. I prefer to play at a slower pace, ala No Mercy.

8) Game Indicators off option. This goes for hot keys that appear on screen to hiding health/stamina meter. Just something to make the game a lot harder.

9) Full customization. Edit hair, eye color everything for existing wrestlers. I tried putting long hair on Triple H it wouldn’t let me.

i’ll update and add anything else i think of, please write in your thoughts!

Can you elaborate on 2, 3, and 4? Unless I'm reading it wrong those sound like things you actually can control in Universe mode.

1 and 9 are probably not going to happen for licensing reasons.

5, 7, and 8 are good options, and 6 is uncertain. We had custom music on the PS3/360 gen but it disappeared in the PS4/X1 gen. The only games that I know of that support custom soundtracks (Fire Pro Wrestling and MLB The Show) were not on XBOX, and since The Show has gone multiplatform they've dropped it from the PS5 version. This one might be a situation where XBOX doesn't support it in the same way Sony did/does, so it's left off to keep the experience equal across platforms. It also might not be that at all, I don't know anything.

Tendencies. This rebuild path VC is on can really benefit from tendencies for each wrestler. A lot of big guys attempting too many top rope maneuvers.


Had a match with Hollywood Hogan and Rey Mysterio Jr. Rey was supine outside the ring and Hogan went up to for a dive on Rey. Just felt uncharacteristic to do so.



Granted, it's a game, but would still love to see some tendency sliders to help resemble a closer to real-life persona

Yes, the game should definitely have wrestler logic. Hogan should never go top rope.

1. Bring back chain wrestling

2. Bring back squash matches

3. Bring back the slider for finisher and weapon strength. But have a large margin so that I can set it strong enough that if I was to hit a finisher two mins into the match, that will surely win me the match.

These three things alone would make universe mode more enjoyable. I don’t need nor want a 5-star match between the Viking raiders and los letharios on my second match on Smackdown, where Angel kicks out of three finishers. Just let me end it quickly if I choose/am able to do so, or likewise allow the opponent to end it early if they hit me with a finisher. And you can instead have wrestlers that are higher in the power rankings have the ability to kick out of a finisher or two.

Yes, the game should definitely have wrestler logic. Hogan should never go top rope.

To expand on the wrestler logic topic the game could also have attributes for top rope moves that effect the success rate. Use Ric Flair as an example. The guy went to the top every match but always failed and got thrown off. So have a tendency logic that made him go up top, and a skill attribute, that when low would make the wrestler take too much time to climb and the downed opponent no-sell the previous move and get up faster so that they could throw him off. 😀

The John Cena fake retirement part of that alone would be so worth it. Unfortunately with him being signed to AEW not likely to happen.

To be honest i just want them to do a better job at debugging, WWE 2k22 was glitchy, constant crashes, created characters having the weird problem of using other created character images and game modes that could be better, as for my wish list:

1. i would like more legend and alumni as well as more current and past wrestlers with multiple attires that you don't have to download through community creations.

2.more match types, the current match types are too bare bones, i would like to see casket, inferno, championship scramble, round robin tournaments, an actual five on five surviver series match, tag teams with three or four teams that can actually tag their partners instead of just being a tornado match, dog collar, bull rope, 4 corners with a minigame representing the wrestlers touching the corners, weapon on a pole matches, and finally wargames. all these match types will need their own minigame

3. MY GM mode improvements. i would personnaly like to see my gm replace universe mode, however to do that it needs to be upgraded, mid card and tag team belts being added at the beginning of the mode no wrestler roles match typing, if i want a powerhouse vs powerhouse like Brock Lesner vs Bobby Lashley i don't want it to get one star because their roles are not matched right, no limit on mode length what if people wanted to go more then 50 weeks, the modes to short, different ways to make income like ad revenue, different types of merchandise being sold, concession stand prices with different food and drinks, training regimens being added with stat gains or losses when they are done like lifting weights, heavy bags, sit ups, pushups, jump rope, crunches, squats, and the like. also on the draft have all wrestlers that you pick to be in the draft be available, a larger drafting fund would be nice too.

4. creation suite. add a create a move set, i am not just talking about signatures or finishers im talking to be able to make your own move set from scratch, as well as being able to name signatures and finishers like you were able to name them on smackdown 1! for create a character i would prefer a larger character limit. i would also like no point cost for attires.

5. match ratings. speaking of smackdown 1 something similar to that rating system or fire pros system of match rating would be appriciated. the getting star rating the way it is currently is flawed, the way it currently is determined requires you to basicly pull out all your moves for 5 star rating sure its been improved over previous games but i would prefer a new system.

6. moves.i would like more moves at base game.

7.use of vc. i would like to see in game vc used differently. being able to purchase new moves or attires or weapons, arenas, with in game currancy, i am not talking about microtransactions but instead talking about earning things through gameplay the idea is moves have to be taught props and arenas have to be bought and it costs a little money to get your custom look.

8.stats. as i touched on earlier in 3 i would like a training system to improve stats kinda like most boxing games think of them as training minigames that actually have an effect on a wrestlers growth you can do it in the performance center or a gym.

9.wrestler roles and ai. highflyers, technicians , powerhouses all good, but wrestlers that do not generally go to the top rope like Hulk Hogan should reflect that. the ai should act like the wrestlers do or give wrestlers their own ai sliders instead of just a general use one.

10.storylines, promos, and rivalries. i would like them to make sense, give options for multiple decisions leading down different story paths i want to see a build up to a rivalry that does not rehash the same cutscenes each week dialogue should be voiced, promos should make sense and have sensible animations to go with them.

1) More miscellaneous personnel around ringside: time keeper, commentators, even camera men— all that can be interacted with. Use as weapons: ring bell, chairs, even the camera! Make it tangible like I am at an actual wrestling show.

2) Interactive crowd: fight through the crowd, be able to grab a soda and smash it over your opponent’s head. The little things.

3) Create-A-Promo: choose animations for the wrestlers and write in your own dialogue. Wrestling is all about telling a story, so give us that dynamic in our universe.

4) MyGM Monday Night Wars. Instead of two shows, you can have two companies going at it.

5) Eras!!! NBA 2K did this, it should be in Universe mode. Golden era, start in 1985 with the first Wrestlemania. New Generation era, start in 1993 right after WM9. Attitude era, start in 1997 after WM13.

6) Menu Poses with the championship belt. Prior to a match, we should see the champion posing with the title at the presentation screen.

7) Dynamic face paint. Lets see the face paint begin to peel off as the match goes on. If I am using Ultimate Warrior, by the end of the match, the face paint should be totally removed.

Honestly, I really like the game where it is. The only thing I would add would be the ability to put more titles on the line in GM Mode and bump up the regular show cards to 6 matches and PPVs to 8 matches. GM Mode has made Universe mode irrelevant to me as there is actually a goal. Add some of the Universe options to the GM Mode in terms of show customization and we're good.
